Background: I recently purchased a DPMS REPR and I'm looking for good optics for it. I don't have a lot of experience in long range shooting or high power scopes so I refer to your collective expertise.

My budget is about $2000 but can be stretched for vastly superior optics

Intended purpose:
- 100-1000m target shooting
- Long range hunting (once skills are sufficiently developed)
- Mid range hog hunting

I've narrowed my search criteria down to the following features:
- 4-6x minimum power for mid range work
- 14-20x maximum power for 1000m targets
- Ranging reticle such as Mil-dot or Leupold's TMR
- Adjustments in mils
- Reliable windage/elevation adjustments
- Zero stops

So far, I've narrowed the choice down to the following models:
Leupold:
- Mark 4 ER/T 4.5-14x50mm M5 w/ TMR reticle (or LR/T series, whats the difference?)
- Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20x50mm M5 w/ TMR reticle
- Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20x50mm M5A2 ($3000 for zero stops? is that worth it?)

Zeiss:
- Victory FL Diavari 4-16x50 T w/ Mil dot reticle
- Conquest 6.5-20x50 AO MC w/ Mil dot reticle

I'm OCONUS atm, so I can't just go to the store and hold these in my hands. Please post if you have any information on these scopes or any suggestions on other optics.

I've heard that Zeiss optics have more reliable windage and elevation adjustments. Is there any truth to this?

Thank you in advance for your help.
