I just received a Zeiss Spotter 60 this week and thought I'd post some pictures of it on one of Danel's medium tripods. There's no need for me to do a review of the scope since I haven't gotten a chance to take it to the field yet. There are some good reviews on the site for anyone who would like to read about the scope.
I'll begin working on a cover for the spotter shortly since there's not one on the market at present that I know of.
Someone asked about tripods and I like this one for a small field tripod since it has a ball socket to allow the scope to be placed in just about any position very securely. It folds up nice and compact at about 14" long when all folded up and weighs 26.5 ounces on my postal scale.
The tripod can position the ocular of the scope anywhere from 7" to 43.5" off of the ground. Seven inches is probably lower than most people can get comfortably.
If I were doing long periods of spotting I would certainly want a more robust tripod, which I'll be purchasing soon, but for work in the field where a bigger and heavier tripod would be a hinderance, this little tripod does the job very well.
Contact Danel Jenkins at Precision Rifle Solutions for information on his product line. He goes by Platypus here on the Hide.
