On Monday the 2024 World Jet Boat Championship ran a leg on a local river. This race runs mostly on the Rogue River and will be on the Klamath River for a day also but they were running Monday on the Coquille river in tidewater, from Bandon to the city of Coquille.

There are four classes of boats based on engines. Fastest are the unlimited which run a turbine engine. Attached video show one of these boats going by. Fastest leg by an unlimited boat was to cover the 23 mile leg in 11 minutes flat, that works out to 125+ mph average.

And the slowest class still averaged 90 mph.

Guessing this boat was at least 115 mph if not faster going by. Jet Boat Race

When those little spring pups get further out it's time to let the 77/22 play.

This is easily the most forgiving .22 I have ever owned, even shoots cheap bulk ammo reasonably well. Currently is zeroed for the black case Eley varmint stuff. Really likes it.
After losing the Child Bride 3 years 8 months ago, I have a wonderful girlfriend who also lost a spouse. Going forward, life is indeed good.

Great to see you posting sir.

Happy you are doing well and have yet another wonderful lady to share time with.

Yesterday morning at 745
7 pounds 8 ounces.
19 inches long
37 weeks.
Mom and him are both doing good.

C section planned just got moved up 14 days. During it they asked if we wanted to see him come out.
Wife said yes. They lower the curtain and I see a butt and legs . Doctor says his head is stuck then pop we have a head .

Not as cool as the one above for sure, but we’re finally starting to move stuff into the casita side of our garage/casita/pool house/attic storage build that’s been ongoing for the past 9+ months.

I call this pic “Fuck a bunch of Ikea crap!”

…and yes, I know one of the supports on the cheap ass plastic Harbor Freight “saw horses” is busted; will fix it, or throw it out mañana.

Landscaping to repair all the damage done by adding the two new leach fields for our septic system is almost complete too.. Our landscaper had a big project get delayed, so he pulled those crews to our job too…at one point we had 15 guys doing different areas /tasks around the property:

That’s load one of four semi-trailers full of rock we had brought in to fill all the various beds and drainage areas. This was load #2 I think…

We wanted it to be pretty low maintenance, so we turned a lot of areas like this:

into this:

…though we came back and had them add small mulch beds around the base of those bushes.

Great track day with the local Porsche club today!

I had two students, and we did it a bit different today, so I got a ton of track time. We allowed the students to ride with instructors in all run groups, so I took one with me in the advanced group, and the other in the intermediate group.

I then rode with them in each of their respective beginner’s groups; one had a nice 718 Cayman T, the other had a brand new Dakar! Forgot to get a pic, but man, that car’s a hoot!

Switched it up for the second runs, and then let them run solo in the third session.

Trimming tress away from the roof today. Dang it’s hot, should have done this months ago!!View attachment 8425622View attachment 8425623
Man, those were planted super close…sadly, we had to tear out all but one of the six Dwarf Magnolia trees planted around our house because the builder put them right up against the house. Those trees also basically destroyed the gutters and fascia boards where they were placed too by the time we bought the house at the ten-year point.

We planted a few oaks and crepe myrtles out in the yard to replace them, and put much smaller bushes up next to the house, but it broke my heart to pull ‘em out even while understanding rationally that they had to go.

Yeah just some little holly trees. Debated just taking them down altogether, maybe will someday.

My son just had to see the log jam!? This was after we crossed 1 log jam, twice, and paddled back upstream, and still had about 1/2 mile to go. He's in the yellow kayak with my youngest grandson.

Don’t even have the cabinets in yet, let alone the lift, but the new garage got a workout today:

i-g6NBgwR-X4.jpg

All this to replace the stock head unit with something newer with CarPlay, and that adds a backup camera. Had to remove the bumper cover to properly route the camera wires. Thought I’d be able to use the holes I did several years ago to add in the trailer hitch, and I did, but still had to remove the bumper cover to route them in a way that’s waterproof. Bummer.

And yes, I actually tow a small trailer to haul the track tires, and other gear to non-local tracks with this car!

Yeah, yeah… Quoting my own post. Doesn’t seem like it, but a lot of progress today between getting stuff done around the house. Got the license plate holder flipped so it clears the camera, got the camera wires run to the front, and down to just one wire remaining to be tapped…that yellow wire next to the parking brake.

i-49jqD9d-4K.jpg

Not shown in this pic, but I also had to tap into that black/blue wire in that block under the driver’s seat for the camera’s reverse trigger. That red wire off to the left is now connected, and run back through the side of the fuse box and up/over to the head unit too. Just one more tap and a few connections to go.

I did test everything too (hence that red power wire temporarily connected in that pic), and everything seems to be gtg. Will try to finish up mañana.

And yes, the car will get a good cleaning/vacuuming as I button it back up! LoL
