Ammo 6.5cm Hornady 143gr ELD-X 200rds

My components just showed up. So I don't plan on shooting this. It's a case (200rds) of Hornady ELDX ammo. I paid a covid premium to buy it to make sure I had something for hunting this fall. Now I don't need it so I am trying to get my money back.

$500 shipped.

Option #2. For the same price I can mix a case of 147gr Hornady ELD-Match ammo. So still 200 rounds. But 5 boxes of ELD-X and 5 boxes of ELD-M.

Any Mathews V3 owners out there

Trying to get back into the game. Grew up shooting competitions with a recurve, grew into a Bear compound, then into a Mathews SQ2 when they first came out. Sold off my stuff when I got married. Now I'm looking into the game again. Not looking for something that'll be up and running this fall, but I'd like to get it put together by spring turkey. Starting to accumulate parts, and wow have bows improved.
Mathews new V3 27" caught my eye. Played with it in the store and think it's going to be the keeper. Any real world experience with the v3? No Hoyt or Bowtech fan boys posting hate.lol

Rifle Scopes Scope Alternatives for Vortex Razor Gen II

The AI is coming: it needs something to sit atop it

I have a 4.5-27x56 EBR-7C Vortex Gen II Razor currently that I really like (Sits on my Howa), but rather than buy another--what are comprable models in price and performance I looked at the 'High End' ZCO, S&B (Kahles and Tangent are big in my area too) and kinda got lost in what they provide. Was thinking maybe a Nightforce of some sort as a next step.

Initially it'll be 6.5 Creed, PRS primarily and shots to 1200 max. Mostly daylight, doubt it will go hunting.

Edit: FFP, Mil/Mil, Zero Stop should all be implied as required.

Optics Keeping: ZCO 527 MPCT2 & SPUHR 6001

Bought from another Hide member. In very good shape. Couple very minor scratches shown in pics. Lenses are in excellent condition. SPUHR mount in great condition. Only selling to purchase a TT for sale on the Hide. Will not split up. $3,700 shipped.

Edit for added pics

RIP Joe Galloway

RIP Joe Galloway.

Longtime American foreign correspondent Joseph L. Galloway, best known for his book recounting a pivotal battle in the Vietnam War that was made into a Hollywood movie, has died at age 79.

A native of Refugio, Texas, Galloway spent 22 years as a war correspondent and bureau chief for United Press International, including serving four tours in Vietnam. He then worked for U.S. News & World Report magazine and Knight Ridder newspapers in a series of overseas roles, including reporting from the Persian Gulf War in 1991.

Galloway died Wednesday morning, his wife Grace Galloway said, after being hospitalized near their home in Concord, N.C. He is also survived by two sons and a stepdaughter.

“He was the kindest, most gentle and loving man,” Grace Galloway said. “He loved the boys and girls of the U.S. military. He loved his country.”

How does humidity affect powder? A new experiment

The humidity of your powder can have an impact on your load's performance and consistency. But there's little in the way of actual public data about it. I wanted to collect the highest quality data I could, so I sent 120 rounds downrange to measure just that.

I tested H4350 at five different humidity levels and measured how moisture affects the velocity and pressure of a load (spoiler: it's significant). I then isolated and measured exactly how much of that effect is due to the change in weight of the powder vs. the change in burn rate.

Let me know what you think!

Do you dry fire your 22?

I’m sure I am opening up a crap storm. But here we go. Do you Dry fire your 22? Do you compete with your 22? Do you win match’s, even small ones? I dry fire, I win local match’s. I would not win a large match. I would not know if poor trigger pull was turning .3 groups into .5s if I did not dry fire. I have dry fired my 10/22s and CZs, 10s of thousands of times without issue. Let the crap storm begin!
