What crime is being committed by selling fake Vaccination Cards

i read a story that FBI or some other alphabet police seized over 3000 dollars worth of fake vaccination cards that were flown in from china. My question is when has the vaccination card become just as important as a license. It isn't even an official anything. The CDC and gov't started printing these up to give to people who wanted them. Do they require you have this with you or would they like you to have this with you? Just like that we NEED to have our papers? Fuck that. Im surprised this is getting little attention

Maggie’s Restaurant Food Quality

Is it just me or has everyone else noticed this?

In the last few months I’ve discovered hair in my food on about 6 occasions.

It serves no purpose to name the restaurants because the local franchises may not be representative of the larger chain.

What irritates me is everyone is throwing a fit about the need to wear those stupid masks but overlook the more sanitary procedures to ensure food quality.

I’m within a hair’s breadth of starting to throw food at the cooks.

Anyone else having similar experiences?

Rant over - for now.

Anyone GC their own home?

So builders in my neck of the woods are swamped with work and cost of new construction reflects that. I know the cost of materials is still through the roof, but I’d like to get into a new home before rates go up. The way I see it, inflation is going to rear its ugly head and a mortgage at less than 3% is too good to pass up.

Right now I’m getting quotes of around $230 a square foot for garbage materials. I’m talking MDF cabinets, vinyl plank and ceramic tile. Nothing wrong with that, but I cant bring myself to pony up that kind of coin. Nobodys doing allowances anymore either and upgrade charges make the primer situation look tame.

If you’ve done it, how’d it go and would you do it again? We’re the savings worthwhile?

Bolt sticking

Hello everyone, I have a custom built 338LM that I had built about 5 years ago. After about every 75-100 rounds that I shoot, either my bolt sticks and will not retract or after I get it out, I cannot get it back in. So, I have had to take the rifle back 3 times over the years to have something done to it. I actually do not really know what he does but I know that in one instance, he had to file down one of the lugs. I do not shoot hot loads. I reload and have shot many different charges and it seems to still happen. I know very little about Gunsmithing but it seems to me that the bolt and action may not be "beefy" enough and maybe the caliber is just to much for it. Can this be? I remember a comment that he made to me when I asked him if he could build it. He didnt want to retool the machine so he grabbed his largest bolt, put a 338 case up against the head and then said "I think this will work". That statement has always stuck with me.....hence, maybe the action and bolt can't handle the 338 load. Anyway, looking for solutions. Guess I just need to have a new action made for my rifle. Thoughts or ideas are welcomed!!! Thanks all

💣💥Hoplite Arms-Important Announcements 💣💥

Hi,

So there are a few things going on that need to be in a more dedicated thread (They will be in the other Hoplite Arms thread too) due to their importance and relevance pertaining to Hoplite Arms business side of things.

The other thread is more of a free for all type posts and updates. This one will be mission critical :)

UPDATE 1: DOWNPAYMENT PROGRAM

We are in the final stages of testing the Aspis weapon system and will begin taking down payments toward the end of next week; with an anticipated lead time being 8 weeks (Dependent on barrel specifications as I have mentioned a few different times) for the Lapua Magnum boltface cartridges.

In the 8 weeks anticipated lead times for the Aspis model rifles we are hoping to be testing the Kopis conversion kits that will allow users to go from Lapua Magnum cartridges to regular magnum cartridges (300PRC, 300WM, etc) to short action cartridges (308, 6.5CM, etc).

NOW here is the important part of our down payment program!!
Apsis Weapon System (Base model): $6900
Down Payment: $3500
Balance Due: 30 Days AFTER DELIVERY!!!

YES you read that correctly!! Hoplite Arms will be offering Net 30 Payment terms. Pretty sure that might be an industry first; if not it has to be pretty close to it.

UPDATE 2: LAYAWAY PROGRAM
We will be offering an interest free 1 year layaway program in which you pay a deposit of $1000 and you make monthly payments; interest free until paid off. Until you pay it off we will send you monthly pictures of your rifle posing for you, lol.

UPDATE 3: LEFT HANDED RIFLE PROGRAM
Ok, so after a brief inquiry this morning from a potential customer in regards to his desire for a Hoplite Arms rifle it was brought to attention that he is left handed.

So to put our money where our mouth is in regards to we absolutely want our customers journey to be as awesome as the rifle, we made an offer to him and we (Hoplite Arms) had already decided that depending on his reply to our offer we would make it public process or not.

So here was the offer:
"After looking at the procurement schedule and availability of specialized materials we utilize along with R&D production schedule we would like you shooting sooner rather than later.
Shooting is a hobby and passion and not one that we should wait around for; at least that is our opinion.
So after real quick internal conversation we may have a possible solution to your "wrong handedness" lol.
May we suggest purchasing the Aspis in its' RH configuration initially and when the LH action has been tested and passed our satisfaction you can send your rifle back in for us to give it a complete quality check was well as rebuild it with a new LH action for an extremely fair prorated price.
By extreme we mean shipping, processing and paint. The LH action at that point would be virtually no cost to you."

So with his acceptance of that offer we are implementing it as its' own program.
Pretty sure that might be an industry first too, lol!!!

Sincerely,
Theis

VACCINE PROTEST MESSAGE BASED ON RELIGION - Very well written. Feel free to distribute or modify.

Why Some Assert Religious Exemption to Vaccine

Each of the Covid vaccines currently available include forms of testing and development with fetal cell lines, which originated from aborted fetuses. For example, each of the currently available Covid vaccines derived from protein testing using the abortion-derived cell line HEK-293. Partaking in a vaccine made from aborted fetuses makes me complicit in an action that offends my religious faith. As such, I cannot, in good conscience and in accord with my religious faith, take any such Covid vaccine at this time. Please provide a reasonable accommodation to my belief, as I wish to continue to be a good employee, helpful to the team.

Which Firearm Did You Regret Selling

I'm sure we all have THAT firearm that you look back on and really wished you never sold it. It would seem that I've regretted selling each and every firearm that I've sold. So much that I recently gave a revolver to my oldest son. He was looking for one and my shooting days are on the down slope.

Not more than a week later, I find myself on Gunbroker looking for a replacement. Yep, I bought another revolver just like the one I gave to my son.

I can cite far too many other times this has happened.

I have Firearm Separation Anxiety.

Bolt gun help

Hey all!

I’m looking for a new .22lr bolt gun to shoot at the range with my dead air mask on it. I’m slightly torn between a few models that I have no previous experience with.

Cz 457:
Looking at the AT-ONE, Varmint, and Varmint MTR. I like the stock on the MTR the best, but I’m not sure if they come threaded.

Tikka t1x although I’d like a wooden stock, my CTR shoots lights out and I know the value is there with a tikka rifle

Bergara B-14 rimfire, these seem expensive for what they are, again I think I’d rather have a wood stock and I’m not sure about the value I’d get out of it.

Mainly looking at the cz’s, because that’s the style I like but I’m open to other suggestions

anybody put some rounds down range with an AT-ONE, Varmint and Varmint MTR that can weigh in?

SOLD Tangent Theta 5-25 gen3 XR

Mod's, a request.

I have a particular thread in Fieldcraft that is being requested to be moved to Vintage.

I have no problems with this, but I just simply don't know HOW to do such. If that is beyond my authorization, could you do so please? If it IS within my realm of possibles, could you tell me how to do such?

It would be the Jack Hinson thread.

Other Really Accurate .308 Rifles Besides Tikka T3x Tac A1 That Are Comparable?

Looking for an accurate one around this same price. I've been reaching out in other communities, I've considered the 6.5CM, but I really know deep down I would prefer .308, the biggest reason is easy ammo availability and cheaper prices especially for brass. I like the Bergara B14 HM4 but I don't like the fact it only has a 20 inch barrel. I wish it was 22 or 24 inches which the T3x Tac A1 are.

Can anyone think of a .308 that is SUB MOA and maybe even easy to find/swap barrels out on?

SOLD Next round of free stuff to those that can use it

Hey guys, got another round of free stuff that I've piled together since cleaning more. I don't have an exact list but heck, it's free so who cares?! I just ask that you cover the shipping which should be $20-30 depending on some of the stuff I include requiring a bigger box. Like last time, I know there is well over $100 in value in there.

RULES:
1) don't be petty
2) don't pressure me on getting it shipped. I usually will have it out in a day or two but sometimes life gets in the way of free stuff (weird, I know!)
3) please only take it if you can use it or know someone that can. I don't mind you using what you can and selling the remainder, just make sure the cash goes into furthering yourself or someone else in the sport or a charity/church.

Please be able to actually use this stuff versus the "I'll take whatever I can get" approach.

Some of the stuff included:
- 308 brass
- various caliber brass (haven't even begun to sort it to see what's in there)
- Modified viperskins for a AICS 2.0 folder that were cut to fit an arca rail
- rifle sling
- I think there's some various holsters in there (some generic uncle mike style and some specific ones.
- miscellaneous rails (I know a handful of them were from a JP chassis and I think the others are keymod from an AX chassis)
- miscellaneous scope rings (don't think anything high value but matching sets regardless)
- ammo boxes
- sun shades (no idea what from, ranges from 40-56mm maybe?)
- more that I can't recall without looking in the box

Later on I will be doing a reloading giveaway to someone who is just getting into the reloading game. It'll have various dies, reloading tools, etc. Check back tomorrow for that one.

223 Trainer OR 308 // Rifle Selection

I'm the greatest challenge to get into the sport; I work 80hrs a week, travel for work, and am still budget conscious about what I'd like to spend on long range shooting.

Likely I will shoot once a month as time is a constraint.

I recently qualified at Fossil Pointe here in Decatur with an 18'' ar15 platform to shoot out to 500-600 yards (shooting with .223 they won't let you out to 800).

I see factory ammo at $.80 a round for 223, and anywhere from $2-$3 a round for 6.5 Creedmoor right now. Would a 223 bolt gun be a good rifle to learn the basics on and get out and do some shooting?

I don't have the time, space, or initial equipment to reload so I'm thinking .223 factory is the best case scenario for price.

Is there an argument to go to .308 factory and see ammo at only a small margin more? $1/round for 308 match? Searches showed $1.50+ that I saw.

223 or 308 & what's a build that'll out-shoot me but not a fortune?

Combat FlipFlops - Written in Taliban Post

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet, and I only extremely seldomly post in the Bear Pit for so many reasons, but what was written by the Combat FlipFlops founders is too important not to share. I am sure that this is controversial and will likely inflame many readers, but I have not come across a more pertinent and horrifyingly truthful assessment of America's current predicament in Afghanistan that, word-for-word, contains more valuable wisdom and context for all of America (and the Free World) to take to heart, at least of late. This is also a masterful example of red-team analysis in the form of long-form writing.

I'm posting the link below to the Soldier Systems post, and also have copied and pasted the text of the post here.

While this is the Bear Pit, I ask that replies be respectful and pertinent to a discussion of the post, because there is a lot to digest here. I have no affiliation with Combat FlipFlops or Soldier Systems Daily, but applaud both CFF and SSD for having the courage to write this and continue to promulgate the post respectively:

https://soldiersystems.net/2021/08/16/combat-flipflops-written-in-taliban

Over the weekend Matt Griffin and Matt Chapman, founders of Combat FlipFlops posted a look at the current situation in Afghanistan written from the Taliban’s point of view. It went viral and in typical Technogarch fashion, social media censored it.

So here it is. Read it all the way to the end.

Written in Taliban

The first time I saw you was in the Khyber pass. You came with your technology, elite fighters fueled by revenge, and the hubris to believe you could disprove history.

This was a war that you didn’t have the stomach to fight. But I’m glad you tried.

We bled you the same way we bled the Soviets in our Holy Land. We bled you the same way the Vietnamese bled you in their home land. We did it patiently and deliberately.

Patience. Something Westerners never learn.

Our history is millennial. We don’t yearn for an early victory when the Infidel ravages our Holy Land. Our victory is celebrated decades from now. We’ve endured, then ravaged every standing military that crossed our borders. Why? How? We’re patient.

In 30 days, we’ll be stronger, richer, and have control over precious natural resources that you need for your pathetic life that’s dictated by comfort. We will have women, riches, land, guns, and ownership of one of the greatest chapters in military history.

You lose.

If you want to try again, we welcome the challenge. You will fail regardless of how much money you burn in our deserts. For pity, here is free advice that may contribute to your future success; should you ever decide to invade again.

You recruit your warriors and supporters from a drug addicted, distracted, disillusioned population that’s obsessed with comfort and entertainment. A population obsessed with altering their mundane reality. Alcohol, marijuana, pills, and our new favorite — Tide Pods. Every time your doctors prescribe opiate painkillers, you line our coffers with gold. Your population’s thirst for our pristine heroin has never been more lucrative for our warrior tribes. We will keep feeding you poison for as long as you keep your hands out.

If your population wasn’t so spineless, undisciplined, and self loathing, then you might be able to compile a raiding party with enough tenacity to outthink ours.

Our fighters are born into war. Raised in it. It’s a way of life that evades your “first world” nations. They live a life of such immense misery and pain that they’re willing to fight barefoot in the snow for the opportunity to martyr themselves. They yearn for the opportunity to die. When they do have the blessed opportunity to sacrifice themselves, they sit above Mohammed at the right hand of God. Blessed in Allah for eternity

What honors do your fighters receive? Their empty sacrifice is remembered in the form of a “three day weekend.” The majority of your population uses this sacred time to get drunk and grow more fat as a way to celebrate their fallen warriors. Sadly, we pay tribute to their death more honorably.

The colored pieces of cloth you pin on their chests are similar to the jewelry worn by our women. What good are accolades and vanity if you don’t have the stomach to endure a fight? We don’t offer the burden of healthcare to our fighters as they often want to die for Allah. Your fighters fight to live. Their inability to reconcile the inevitable outcome of our patience leads them to kill themselves. Your medications, counselors and non-profits will never undo the pain and suffering you’ve forced them to endure. It will never remove the pain we’ve caused your broken nation. You are your own worst enemy.

We will give your fighters credit. Some are creative, tenacious, and fierce. They outgun us in every way possible. But again, we simply wait them out. Allah is patient. You cycle them through our Holy Lands every 3 to 12 months for their combat rotations. After their tour is complete, they return to the comfort of their warm beds and endless entertainment. If you left them here, in our Holy Land, with no way out but to win, then you might of have had a chance of success. The longer you poisoned our Holy Land with your presence, your “rules of engagement” only strengthened our position. There is only one rule in war – that is to win.

Your commanders made you fight with your hands tied behind your back. Your rules also confused our fighters too. “We’re clearly the enemy, why are they letting us go?” Thank you for your compassion as it allowed our fighters to kill more Infidels. We began to feel as if your commanders were on our side. We’re thankful your most vicious dogs were never allowed off their leash.

Your showcase Generals make us laugh. You spend millions of dollars flying them around our country inventing new ways to win, while ignoring the guidance of our most capable foes. Your Generals make decisions to minimize risk to their fragile reputation with the ultimate goal of securing a lucrative retirement–jobs with suppliers that fuel your losing force. A self-serving circle that’s built on the backs of your youngest and most naive fighters.

Your retired Generals “earn” tens of thousands of dollars talking to your political, industrial, and financial leaders about “teams, winning, and discipline.” It’s a mockery of the war they refused to fight. It’s a mockery of the Infidel warriors who died in our lands. We urge you to continue following their vacuumous personalities so we can further watch your once great nation collapse.

Your statesman and elected officials are spineless, narcissistic, and more cowardly than your Generals. They crave power over you above all else. They come to our country, hide behind blast walls, and only heed the word of the indiginous leader they put in power. I believe your soldiers call this a “self licking ice cream cone.”

They’ve burned billions of dollars in a wasted effort to bring clean water, electricity, business, education, agriculture, and exports to a region that didn’t ask for it. You should have saved yourself the effort and simply given the money directly to us. Don’t worry, your diplomatic friends gave us plenty of your American tax dollars. If you want to give it another shot with your “soft power,” send those with real experience, not fancy degrees and silver tongues.

Over the next few months, we will make the world understand that you failed worse than any fighting force that’s ever invaded our lands. Today we celebrate victory.

As you evacuate your embassy, our fighters will be standing in the shade. We thank you for the parting gifts. You’ll find surface-to-air missiles staged in the back of Toyota pickup trucks that you purchased for us. Our marksmen will be patient.

We saw what Extortion 17 did to your nation and the morale of your fighting force. Do your citizens even remember that victory? We’ll be repeating and improving upon our victory while your citizens and sympathizers evacuate in disgrace. Every one of your foes around the world will know exactly how to break you.

You are welcome to fly your empty drones, target our cell phones, and send your spies. But they, too, will ultimately fail. We’ll use their failures to show the world that you’re not all-powerful. You’re a false front. An empty shell. You lie, cheat, steal, and are easily defeated because you lack the spine to fight. This is your history now. We’re grateful Allah gave us the opportunity to show the world how to defeat the Infidels.

We look forward to seeing you again across the battlefield.

Praise be to God,

The Taliban

***Authors’ Note***

If you’ve read this far. Thank you. I’ve spent the past week trying to find a way to communicate this to the American people in a manner that would cause anger, rage, action, and understanding. Writing in the voice of a Taliban felt right.

If this made you angry, cry, or contemplative–then our goal is achieved. Our hope is that it inspires you to take action with your elected officials. They’ve been repeating the same failing playbook since World War II with your sons, daughters, and tax dollars. If you want this to keep happening, do nothing. If you don’t, then do something. If we all do a little, together we do a lot.
