The Most Dangerous City in the USA
Firearms related... Not enough details at the moment but it is starting to look like a case of "you can only use militarized lawfare to brutalize law abiding gun owners and dealers for so much before somebody gets tired and does some things".

The entire purpose of the 2nd Amendment is not duck hunting. It is to keep motherfuckers from hunting good people.

If he wasn't Amish, his picture would be plastered all over every newspaper, news feed and television statement.

Now I am hearing 'felon trafficking stolen firearms'... I can almost kind of see the gang tats and the snarling mugshot from a previous arrest...

Weird because the video I just saw had some white girls feet in it. (I think). Basically no facts out that I've seen but they went to serve a warrant on one guy (who they killed in the front yard), and then took fire from a second shooter from inside the house. Definitely unusual. Of course lawlessness breeds lawlessness, and violence breeds violence. When you let things in general get just, out of control in so many places, the loose cannons start firing. What a shitstorm we have made out of the greatest country to have ever been...

If someone is so dangerous they can't be trusted to exercise their constitutional rights, they should be in jail, deported or killed. 2nd amendment doesn't say anything about being a felon or having a criminal record.

Most likely some POS who should have had a dirt nap years ago but was let out of jail by pussy judges and DAs.

Sounds like the perp got a better outcome than that evil firearms dealer in Arkansas, maybe they should have done a no knock raid at 4am.

Three LE killed, at least one more in critical condition. Several others wounded. Main suspect dead. A woman and 17yr old were also in the house and may have also been shooting, but not sure yet. They were taken into custody alive and are persons of interest at this point.

Was a Marshal's Fugitive Task Force serving a warrant for a "felon in possession of a firearm." Appears to have been a middle of day, normal knock warrant.

No more specific details at the moment.

Details from media and non media sources trickling in. Appears that as the task force was approaching the residence, they were fired upon before attempting the knock.

The details after a still fuzzy. But at this point, the narrative is the main suspect was dead on the lawn and when LE attempted to approach the house after, they were fired upon again from inside. Which turned things into a several hour stand off. Reports are they used an armored vehicle to breech house later.

Seems they are unsure if the woman and/or juvenile in the house were shooting in the second wave, or if there were subject/s that might have escaped. Though since there is no safety warning to everyone in the area, it likely means they don't feel like anyone fled and it was one or both of the two occupants found inside.

The takeaways so far would be discussions on:

- What, if any felons should lose their 2nd amendment rights. Obviously not something that will be fixed anytime soon
- Utilizing dedicated "assault" (not a good word for domestic LE, but whatever) teams in conjunction with non daytime no knock warrants *properly*.

There needs to be more standards that are utilized the same at all departments/agencies when it comes to any type of high risk warrants. They need to be properly vetted as high risk. They need to be triple checked or more for the correct addresses and such. And they need to be undertaken via properly trained and dedicated teams for making entry into these types of situations. Using regular LE and/or Task Force Officers isn't a good way to go about high risk situations.

This is complete arm chair QB on my part at the moment, but it seems like they attempted a middle of the day, normal warrant, with regular LE.......on a subject that should have been high risk, and likely a different type of warrant performed (this is excluding the conversation of if a felon should lose the 2a rights, as there's nothing that can be done about that at the very moment).

Suspect's name has been released. Terry Clark Hughes Jr.

No picture yet. But I'm fairly sure it's this same person who was 27, 12 years ago when the article was written. The name release says he's 39 as of today. So......fair chance.

I'll delete if it turns out to be someone else of the same name in the same area.

Yes. Rest in peace, LEOs. Condolences to their families and friends.
Felons in possession of firearms, and gun trafficking, are what the ATF should do exclusively.

X 1000...

If the alphabet agencies and various LEAs solely devoted their efforts to going after violent criminals, recidivist felons, and people engaged in highly immoral and disgusting shit, and at the same time REFUSED the orders of woke elected parasites to harass gun owners and political opponents of the Dems, the entire armed citizen body would be in solid and unwavering support of them, and it is a support that means an unbreakable strength to keep this entire country safe. Saying YES to wholesome, pro-USA causes and campaigns, and saying NO to the woke/globalist is a quality that must be practiced by every deputized and sworn officials before this country can make the 180° turn needed to get back on course again.

That said, this case right here is looking more and more on the lines of a shitbag who shouldn't have been let back out onto the streets in the first place...

NBC news says that the subject was inside the house. Not outside.
Like you said. We should wait for the correct details before making up shit that didn't happen.

LOL. You guys literally never wait for all the info to come out.

Had the guy been white, this thread would be 5+ pages long already claiming they killed an innocent man for no reason. You only wait for correct details when it suits you.

(also, fwiw, most news is saying he was outside)

I saw the police chief said the one guy was dead in the front yard after everything was over. Don't know how it started but that was the case at the end of it.

Says that guy who is making up scenarios about other shooters from inside.
Agreed that "some" news is saying one thing and others are saying something else.
And news flash, I don't give a rats ass about the dudes skin color.
Here's a scenario, they stacked up at the door and he put the lead through the door and the rest scattered. He continued to fire as they tried to recover their buddies. When he is finally killed they dragged him from the house onto the front lawn.
I mean if we're going to make shit up?

Here’s the thing, and thank you for locating this older news story about the subject in question. Story mentions one of the charges as being possession of a firearm by a felon. There is more prior criminal history here, violent people need to do hard time and not skid-bids. If this turd of a human being was in prison where he belonged these officer funerals wouldn’t have to be planned. I put blame on the courts and DA’s for allowing these career criminals the ability to remain in our society. This is another tragedy that didn’t need to happen, not Monday morning quarterbacking these people need to remain in prison.

Gun fire erupted from inside the house as agents were approaching to knock.

The question was asked if felons should not have 2A rights. Well, most places already have laws to prosecute felons possessing a firearm. Doesn't stop the felons from carrying. 2A restrictions only hurt the good people, never the bad people. You might as well prohibit felons from owning steak knives or ammonia based cleaners and iodine just because they might be smart enough to mix up a little ammonium triiodide.

Tools are tools.

Does the “Fugitive Task Force” conduct raids for a felon in possession? I would think they would capture…fugitives… So this doesn't make sense unless he has multiple warrants out, which seems obvious to me, but probably not to a "news reporter". So it's something they wouldn't think to check out and report on.

Because the perp isn't white is why the "news" is withholding so much information. That we note how differently stories are covered by the "news" isn't racist. It's the coverage that is blatantly racist, just like it was the other way in the past. They don't bother digging into his past or speculating on his motive or criminal history, or really do any reporting but parroting the government line. This happens every time the shooter is a protected class on the intersectional hierarchy, and to point it out is logical not racist. We see it over and over and it is hardly a secret. This is true even when the shooter or victim is a hardened, career criminal with a lethal amount of illegal drugs in his system like George Floyd, or immediately after a robbery and an attack on a police officer like Michael Brown. So while people do jump to conclusions based on their biases, running a prevent defense every play makes sense if the other team throws a Hail Mary on first, second, third, and fourth down every time they get possession.

It sounds like they brought a lot of men and firepower, and clearly he was extremely/extraordinary dangerous. This just isn't the kind of OP that should happen unless you have the drop. He saw them coming, and they basically walked right into an ambush.

Not relevant to this case, but...
I can't help but think how this would be a normal day in paradise if the government did start confiscating citizen's guns. Yes, a lot of people would just submit to arrest and give up their legal firearms to the kings men, but if even 10% didn't this would probably be a common outcome and there would be no one left to do it in a couple of weeks. That Solzhenitsyn thing again...

A "generalization"...
It is appearing that someone, high up in Government, is directing these "Home Sieges".
These situations allow the Government agencies to control the narrative. They feed their agenda information to the MSM.
With the new option of allowing AI to divulge info the "source" of any released info becomes anonymous.
After the smoke clears, who's to know if even the body count is accurate. Does a guy a 1,000 miles away even care what the MSM is putting on the 6 o'clock news ?
The only thing I see that is for certain, it's happening more and more frequently and no one is getting answers to the questions.
Every event is more chaotic than the previous event. Deja Vu

This is the issue once again. We all know this damn guy is a life long criminal who was let out by some leftwing judge or DA. This dude should have been locked up and none of this would have ever happened. Instead, they let these hardened criminals out then send cops to go get em time and again. It's so damn stupid and it's not a surprising outcome at all. You'd be insane to be a cop these days for a multitude of reasons, this being a big one.

this will disappear soon now that the suspect has been identified.
Unless they see political advantage making him out to be a hero. Then it really doesn't matter who he was or even what he did if they think it moves their ball down the field. How many mass murderers are heroes of the left? You think it matters how many people he killed or what kind of person he was? You are operating under the false impression that THE TRUTH matters more than THEIR TRUTH.

Since the beginning of time there has always been a percentage of people with the gene that prompts them to be a warrior, fighter, crusader, Texas Ranger, Super Hero, savior of mankind. There are no World Wars to fight today. Most could not cut it being a mercenary. So, they bide their time working for the government.

The tools had been put in place successfully years ago with federal prosecution and mandatory sentencing for guns and bad guys. And then like all good things that work it went away.

(top right:Launching Project Excile)

According to police there was a second shooter. The Daily Mail reported: 'When [officers] approached Hughes they were met by gunfire and returned the gunfire, striking Hughes, who was found deceased in a yard', Jennings said.

Officers received 'additional gunfire' from within the residence, but it is not yet clear whose bullets struck which officers, and how many cops were hit overall.
