At the max 600yd range I can shoot at. In 308 is a 24” barrel a deficit over a 26-27” barrel? If I have the proper twist barrel are 155gn bullets competitive against 175-185 gun bullets? I
Looking for your opinions for a low budget stock for the F-T/R rifle (my first) I'm building. Rifle is a Remington 40XC 308 1-10" 24" barrel. no stock at present. Sinclair bipod, Sightron 8-32x56 scope. Max yardage is 600 yds in my area. I'm looking at this HS Tactical stock. $380 on line price...
I see some on the range and a few on auction sites for premium money. Is there still a advantage to these scopes today? I shoot from .22lr at 25yd to 30-06@300. I've been happy with the Leupolds I have but just thinking about them.
Thinking of buying a rifle in .204. I have 2 .223s already. Question is talking factory loads, Does the 204 40grain bullet buck wind drift better than a .223 75grain BTHP to 600yds? (the maximum distance available to me)
I want a 308 under the tree. Has to be Remington, 24-27 inch barrel, The heavier the better (prone/w bipod and bench). Range- 300-600 yd. Top to spend about, $1200. I was thinking of a used 40-XC but no history is available for the rifle and I'm thinking since its a over the course rifle, its...
As we know ammo has been a problem. Hornady Steel Match has shown up at the local Dicks. Has anyone used this steel cased ammo in their rifles? Whats your opinion on it. I would be using it in my beloved Remington MilSpec .223 that I will be keeping a long time
I have a Remington 700 Milspec in .223 that I'm going to use at 300yd prone matches (maybe f class in the future) and a closely matching 40-XB in .22lr that will be my trainer. I'm going to give these rifles to my gunsmith to do the triggers to match. What would be a good trigger weight for...
Good training rifle. 5 and modified 10 round magazines. Laminated wood stock like a 700 VLS. 20 inch .900 barrel. Weighs about 10 lb with a scope. Good training rifle for Remington 700 shooters. What do you think its worh?
I'm a non licsencee, How do I send a rifle to a ffl holder. I've been turned away from fedex today. If I was a ffl holder they wanted to overnite air it (Over $100)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360283477564&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I'm thinking of replcing my Celestron 80mm because its huge. I'm wondering if this scope can see bulletholes@300yd like my Celestron
Received a 5r MilSpec .223 for Christmas. Is the break in for these same as other rifles? Did the one shot/clean-5 shot clean before, wondering if its necessary on these barrels or is something else prescribed
