years ago when me and my mother worked with a blood hound rescue we fostered a golden retriever/blood hound mix and he was one hairy dog. had the sweetest disposition ive ever seen.
I got me one laying next to me on the couch right now. Drove up to Wyoming from Texas last February to pick her up. I’ve had lots of hounds since I grew up and she is really something else. Smart and incredibly athletic. I’ve never seen a dog move like her. She gives the coyotes hell.
Yeah I don't fuck with bears. I used to work in Alaska when i got out of the Marines in 06. I've been charged twice by brown bears. I don't care what anybody says I'm terrified of them. lol
All I know is my cop buddies have told me they get let off easy all the time, I have someone close to me that went through it and the guy got off clean with it….
Was just doing some thinking on the Mod 70. can anybody speak to improving the accuracy in its factory configuration? for instance do they improve a measurable amount having a competent smith pillar bed it and bed the action? what could I reasonably expect if i got around to getting one next...
I have a buddy I served with that’s on the inside of the America first crew and the core of them are the most legit sensible people in Washington. Not trump fanatics either they have the same criticisms of trump as Dave smith actually. Of which I agree 100%.
thanks for the response, I'm going to get a mod 70 sooner or later regardless of this year's hunt. I grew up hunting with my pops with a beautifule Mod 70 257 roberts that was a phenomenal rifle that ive been feeling nostalgic over since he past a couple years ago and have wanted to get another...
I’m working on it. I’m probably going to have my buddy order me a T3X laminated stainless rifle not sure on caliber just yet. I think I will get a M70 super grade later next year in a 6 creed for my Texas hunting.
The wood stock deal really just extended to the model 70 as i think they are very nice looking rifles and if i get a Tikka id just get a stainless T3X and skip the wood for one of their plastic stocks.
Thank you for your answer that actually relates to my core question to begin with.
I’ve been reading on the inter-webs that “they” whoever they are say the factory model 70’s average 1.5 to 2 MOA out of the box with factory ammo so I merely wanted to dig at that a little more to help come to...
Ok fuck it, let’s say I decide to hike my 17# 6creed out there with me. Then what? What would/how should I load for it? Bullit, velocity, max effective rang to limit myself to for a high probability for an ethical kill. Should I go for a lung shot or a high shoulder shot etc?…
Maybe in...
LOL shit cant help but go off track around here like nowhere I've ever seen. right now all I have is a 6 creed in the stable and I'm not taking it. I don't care how confident I am with it . everybody I know that hunt elk every year tells me to go with anything to at the least a 270, and is...
Have an elk hunt coming this year and I want to just run a factory rifle.
I first wanted to just get a TIKKA in 300WSM and call it good since I've had several the past
10 years and I already know it is more than sufficient to the job.
However, I've been wanting a nice wood stock rifle for a...
