    M24 Barrel Question

We buy and resell the M40 blanks, and 4 months might be optimistic. It is our goal to keep Schneider blanks on the shelf, along with many other M40 rifle parts. We are not gunsmiths, but we do have a dog in the military rifle fight, so to speak. It would seem you got some good advise on a...

Agree. It is a nice built and a good representation.

    MRAD barrels on Mk22

The MRAD barrels are a match, but yes, you will need a new brake for the Mk22 suppressor.

    Leupold Mark 5 HD 3.5-18???

The Mark 5HD has reticles with and without illumination. One quirk with Leupold is the manner in which they install illumination makes for a rather steep price difference to add on illumination. It is a fantastic scope.

Charlie's will be offering USMC M40A3 and A5 components, in stock, no waiting

Bump. Most M40 parts are in stock. The barrels still have a short lead time. We are also going to look for other barrel blank makers, both for availability and affordability.

    MK5-hd 5-25 vs 7-35×

The ATACR in 7-35x is more versatile and used both in extreme long range (1,200+ yards) and also in very short range, like air guns at 20 meters. I do not think the performance of the optics is any better than the 5-25x. And, in the Mark 5HD, the same is true, that the quality seems good...

    chinese scope quality increased?

It is like most anything else. There is very good Chinese manufacturing, if the specs call for well made and tight tollerences. What has happened in the past, and with many scope manufactuers is that they have opted for wider tollerances and less QA, which was produced a less than average...

Help with an orphan Remington Defense Rail

So, the underside has no bipod mounting surface? I suppose it might be similar the the RACS chassis o. The M2010, but honestly, what’s the attraction, other than you have the rail? I mean I get that. I have a collection of orphan parts I want to find a use for. But are I from never really...

    DMR/QP/Precision Gas Gun Match Build

I am partial to 6 ARC, but have not shot the others. I am comparing to 5.56 NATO and 6.5 Grendel, and have been impressed.

    "New" rifle from Springfield Armory...

This is an interesting offering. While I could critique why they did this or that, I am optimistic that it opens up more room for budget conscious military rifle enthusiasts. Not everyone can afford to get the rifle true “clone correct.”

Can we discuss chassis? MDT ACC vs AI AT-X

As noted, AT-X is a good choice. Keep in mind it is not M-LOK. MDT makes a good chassis. For kicks, I would also look at the Cadex Strike Pro. Once you pair with a good action and / or barreled action, your shooting will probably improve. Personally, I still have a Savage LA, and think it...

SAI 1-6 7.62 BDC to MRAD (conversion)

Hmm. My guess is that they do not know or do not want to research it for you. PA has some really nice and easy to use reticles, but do you really think they gave that much calibration to a mini prism? When using an optic of that nature, the BDC is more of an estimate than a science. Your...

    Second guessing a part

I think it depends upon the length of the barrel and the gas system. I suppose you could never go wrong with adjustable, but the longer the barrel and the gas system, the less variability you will have in back pressures suppressed and not. Also, there are so many good choices in suppressors in...

    18" 22ARC

We just got in some Geissele 18" 6mm ARC rifles, and before ordering them, had several conversations with people who used them competitively, and in the field. Very impressive results, but I was examing the rifle and the results and did not ask about the ammo.

    Does it make sense...

Enjoy the rifle and have fun. If you are serious about RECCE and SPR, lose the Aero and BCM parts. You probably have better parts than the operators in the early 2000's so make your clone your own.

Remington 700 Custom Shop M40ish ID help!

I think you said it all. There is more to the story though. This nice older gentleman or his alledgely dead friend also has a USMC manual. We work with the later generation M40s, so not an expert on this version, but fluting does not seem to fit an older gun, and the bottom metal is unknown...

    Mk4 Spotter Upgrades?

We represent Cadex and Badger in that market, so I have a bias, but the Cadex is what is asked for the most from "operators" and it is reasonably priced and does the job.
