Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
This has got to be the dumbest post in this thread. Classic gun gamer mentality. Try getting some training from people focused on civilian carry (reactive application), not a competition shooter. Priorities there are very different, which anyone who's actually taken the time to study would know...
Deleting the rear sight is a mistake unless it's a competition gun or purely a range toy. Good news is most people who get into this end up with multiple optic mounted pistols so there's always next time.
Thanks for the info guys! I'm ashamed to say I wasn't a paying member before, but am now. I'd way rather support people like this who get things done than Fudds like the NRA.
MP501 is not Lever. You can't pretend to know what Lever will do based on results of some other powder, especially when you stopped just based on a number that you thought might be too much. Gotta learn to read pressure signs instead of guesswork like that; if you did you'd find out that 8208...
It won't. That chamber was rough to start with and appears to have been damaged with sand or something (maybe corrosion?). It needs to be honed smooth again, and no sense trying other workarounds when the answer is so simple and easy to do, and relatively cheap too.
If you want to run them fast (I mean, that's the whole point of 20 cal, right?) then use Lever. You can make 8208 work but it'll be a lot slower. Important to understand that this is partly about burn rate, but also about energy density - Lever burn rate is a little slower than 8208 but it's...
The very first pic shows the cause of the issue, but it's not the darker longitudinal scratches you're probably looking at, it's the circumferential rings in the chamber (most visible near the upper left of that pic) that were caused by a rough chambering job and not honed out. You can see...
Not sure I understand what you're trying to ask. I've loaded 90gr bullets subsonic in both 308 and 30/06. Come to think of it, I've loaded powder coated round balls too, well below typical subsonic speeds. Use a fast powder. Cast coated lead bullets are more forgiving for very mild subsonic...
Yep, Rugged Obsidian 45 as said above - good balance of price vs performance, and rated as one of the quieter big bore pistol suppressors. Of course you could look at a dedicated SMG can (fixed mount, and generally larger than pistol cans) if you don't want to also use this on a semi-auto...
Yeah they're worth checking out. Leapers doesn't have the best reputation (starting off as cheap chinese junk is rarely the best way to get a good rep) and I don't disagree with that in general, but this particular bipod is actually pretty solid. It is heavy though, and IMO suited well for heavy...
Paid for itself how? It doesn't cost any more to submit a F1/4 as an individual. I've had an active trust for a long time now, since my first can in the early 2000's. Doesn't cost me any money to use it now of course, but I don't, because what's the point? It's just more hassle when submitting...
Obsidian 45 Individual, silencershop kiosk (eforms) I forget the dates, approval took 3 days. Personally I see zero reason to keep using trusts these days. They made sense years ago pre-41P, but now IMO are being promoted mostly by lawyers engaged in the business of selling trusts.
Arguing to a 4 year old post is stupid, of course. But WTF are you talking about being discontinued? The subject of the thread definitely isn't. Bought one myself last fall; actually works pretty decently. My only complaint is they won't sell the rifle mounts separately, which is pretty...
No reason to. It’s lighter than most modern cans and at least as quiet as most. They disappeared when Gemtech switched to their monocore, which sucks bad, and that was done mainly because most people don’t have tools or know how to work on stuff anymore, and the Outback wasn’t originally...
😄 If you knew how old that Outback II is you could probably guess that I’ve figured out cleaning it a long time ago. It would have been full of carbon at least 3-4 times over by now. And you can sometimes clean aluminum in US cleaners, if you have some idea of what works and what doesn’t. It’s...
FYI the Bootleg adjustable system does not choke down the gas like an adjustable gas block; it bleeds off excess pressure before it gets to the carrier's piston chamber. I use them too, and have been since before most anyone else here was talking about them, but prefer to also use a set &...
Likely overgassed as said above (super common in 308 ARs), but you'll want to fix that rough chamber first. There are a couple ways to do that; easiest is a ball hone for the 308 chamber that a gunsmith should have, but you can buy yourself for $40-$50. Keep it wet with a solvent or light oil...
