If you should run across this thread from years ago, this post does not apply to the 5700 series as we supply and recommend using only Lithium batteries.

the new scope is a change to your rifle, you need to re-zero and then do Cal MV and stop adjusting the Kestrel for environment conditions, that is what it is supposed to do. The Temp table is for powder sensitivity, the Kestrel adjusts automatically for weather change.

if you have done dsf already you need to upload the profile to the app, then you can enter the MV temp table and then download to the Kestrel and that will keep all your data.

Temp / fps go in the MV Temp Table and if turned on the Kestrel looks to the table for MV Temp not the fps entered in the Gun Profile MV. This does not change DSF.

That is contrary to the design of the Kestrel, so most likely not. Maybe we should deal with the finicky part you are experiencing. Please give us a call and we can look into why your compass is a problem. 800-784-4221

The Hornaday 4DOF 5700 uses bullet data developed by Hornady, all other 5700 ballistic meters use bullet data developed by AB. When you use the App to create a profile the phone/pad goes to their database for the bullet information. There is very little bullet data in the Kestrel itself, just...
