I do know that Mike torques his barrels up much higher than 150 ft-lbs, and I believe he uses a buttress thread to do so. The torque he achieves is not practically attainable on a typical custom action. However I'm unaware of what Kelbly and Ted have to say about the manner.
What difference do you notice between say 75 ft-lbs and 150 ft-lbs of torque? I used to torque all my barrels to 100 ft-lbs, but now have arbitrarily decided to torque them to 75. I don't notice any practical difference.
Good example that demonstrates that just because you are a great shooter, that doesn't mean you have a perfect understanding of internal ballistics. And that's not a knock on EC or Neary - none of us do. But it's all too common to draw dispositive conclusions where they don't actually exist.
I agree. I don't mean to crap on Hornady either. No matter how they decide to face external issues in the industry, they have to make compromises that would negatively impact the consumer. There's no great options when the supplies required to make your product are scarce.
This may be the best argument for reloading. It's the only way that you can control what is going in your rifle and your anmo's performance. Using factory ammo, you are subjected to the whims of what the suits and bean counters want to accomplish with their product - and typically, it's...
The DD Enticer series seems very intriguing, especially at its price point. Incredible value given the performance. I'm highly tempted to get the Enticer-L Ti. Appreciate the review.
I know people hate hearing this, but... The issue could very well be with the shooter. Specifically, your rear bag technique/fundamentals. .308 certainly has enough recoil to really exploit any flaws, especially if you aren't using any muzzle device to help mitigate recoil. I too experienced...
All I've used for SRP's is CCI BR4 's, and they have worked very well for my applications (6BRA and 6.5 Creedmoor). Single digit SD's isn't an issue. IMO, I think it's also important to have consistent primer seating depth. In my experience, I find seating primers as deep as reasonably possible...
The BT28 is a pretty standard way to mount a bipod to a Anschutz rail: https://shop.accu-shot.com/shop/accessories-official-manufacturer/1913-picatinny-rails/bt28-afar-kit-2/ Any bipod with a picatinny mount will attach to the BT28. If your bipod utilizes ARCA, you will have to go a different...
I don't shoot much PRS anymore. But last match I shot suppressed with my Abel Biscuit, and it was really pleasant. It's a shorter fat suppressor. Suppresses small to "schmedium" cartridges (think 6.5 cm) pretty well - obviously not as well as a large volume can, but enough to still be pretty...
Most people are going to post what they own to seek confirmation on their own purchase(s). People are weird like that with suppressors. So take suggestions with a grain of salt. Backpressure will be a real issue with a suppressed AR-10. I don't have any experience with the other cans on the...
Cool thread - I don't have a Dillion 750, still do all my reloading on x1 Forster Co-ax press. Tooling up a 750 to do precision reloading would be the tits though.
This is why NATO is dumb. Some countries in Europe, including some obscure ones that aren't intrinsic to the US's national interests, can drag us into needless war. Perhaps it's time to rethink NATO.
I believe so? When I ordered, I just emailed Beth at NA requesting a SR15 compatible upper assembly tool. From their FB page, it looks like their upper assembly tool is compatible with HK416 and KAC.
