    Suppressors kimber eclipse?

Re: kimber eclipse? Not sure if it's worth the extra cash to you but I have a Custom Covert and I love it. It isn't really going to shoot any different for the extra $$, you just get a carry melt, tactical wedge sights and crimson trace grips. Though you give up it being stainless and a full...

    Suppressors Lets see those 1911's!!!!

Re: Lets see those 1911's!!!! Just got it today. Did some break-in. Shot 150 Rounds of 230Gr FMJ's and finished the day with those 7 rounds of 230Gr Golden Sabers. Had to function check the HP's to make sure they'd feed OK. I did pretty good for my first hand gun I think.

Gunsmithing Hogue forend, will it fit my win 1300 turkey?

Re: Hogue forend, will it fit my win 1300 turkey? It only fits models with the 6 1/4" Slide Arm Tube. There's been different sizes over the years, especially with the different mag capacities. Also the Houge forend covers the barrel band so you will need a forend wrench that can sit down into...

Photos Fun with a china marker!

Re: Fun with a china marker! Just like the look of the white lettering, though I think I might take it off the barrel. I think it looks a little out of place way out there.

Photos Fun with a china marker!

Re: Fun with a china marker! Pretty much the same thing. I'm not sure on the material differences between crayons and a China Marker, but when I was using it it sure acted like crayons. When I wiped it down afterward it liquefied some and smoothed out a little. The finish on the metal was w/o...

Photos Fun with a china marker!

I was looking for a non-permanent way to color my stamped letters on my receiver and a thread on the hide suggested a China Marker. It seems to do the trick and looks like it's more permanent than I though it would be. If I like it enough and it ever comes off, I'll probably paint it in. For now...

New for the Remington 700 - the Bolt Lift

Re: New for the Remington 700 - the Bolt Lift Just ordered one. I'm excited since I wanted a knob conversion, but never seen it as practical enough to send a bolt out for. One of the best ideas yet!

    Remington 700 SPS Tactical issues...

Re: Remington 700 SPS Tactical issues... Same rifle, same problem. Take it out of the stock, and take some sand paper and knock the edge down on the feed lips. Made a world of difference. Or shoot steel cased ammo for a while, that'll do it too. Could put a center feed DBM in there too and...

Gunsmithing Difference between rem Sportsman 78 and 700?

Re: Difference between rem Sportsman 78 and 700? It was made from 1984 to 1988 to target the lower cost rifles. It is exactly the same as any other 700 ADL from the era. Just had a gopher wood stock and a sporter barrel. Old style rem trigger too! Smooth bolt handle like you said and very...

    Pressure signs.

Re: Pressure signs. I have calipers and a Hornady bullet comparator. I also use a lee case trimmer. I know that the cases were of the correct length and that the OAL was good for both rifles. Just not sure on the head space gauge.

Re: Pressure signs. Left is Factory 55gr FMJ from Rifle #1 Right is Factory 55gr Core Lokt from rifle #2 I don't have a case gauge. School me on that, I have no idea . The loads from the original post, left and center are FL sized on a Redding die bottomed on the shell holder, brass...

    Pressure signs.

Bear with me as these are the fist hand loads I've worked up and fired: The first one on the left from rifle #1, the primer is obviously flattened and after I popped the primer out had slight "Top Hatting". The one in the middle is the same load, in rifle #2. The third was a different load...
