Am I the only one that thinks the main purpose of an LPVO is being missed by manufacturers because of the following thoughts? When I think of an LPVO, I think CQB to beginning of long range about 500 to 600 yards. I think of wanting wide FOV and DOF. I think of no turret adjustments, just using...
I am in the market for a new long range optic and am in need of assistance. I plan on tactical shooting 700-1700 yards. My current optic is the Premier Reticles 5-25 (I also own, use and love the TT3-15). I am currently looking at ZCO 5-27, TT 5-25, and the Leupold Mark 5HD 7-35 with the Tremor3...
I know nothing about building rifles, so be gentle. If I buy a short action rifle say in .308 is all it takes to convert the rifle to a different Short Action caliber such as .260 or 6.5 Grendel is change out the barrel and bolt face?
I had someone tell me that objective size correlates to Field of View. Does objective size directly relate to Field of View? I would think that changing the curvature of the lens would also widen the FOV but would add optical distortion. Objective size also increases light transmission, but are...
What do you all think would be the ideal caliber/cartridge for subsonic suppression and why? I was considering large bore like .50 beowulf or .458 socom due to power considerations at lower velocities.
Is the M14 still issued? I thought the Army tried it out early in the war but discontinued its use due to armorers not being trained to repair them when malfunctioning.
I have a lower receiver with a built in tension screw that allows for adjustment to remove play between the upper and lower. The screw loosens too easily and I was considering putting blue loc-tite on the screw to help it be more secure. Sound good? Anyone have a better suggestion?
I'm looking for watch suggestions. I want something similar to the Casio Pathfinder that was reviewed recently, but I didn't like the fact that the beeps could not be silenced. Thanks for the help guys.
How important is it that a suppressor be serviceable? I haven't owned a suppressor before so I am not sure if cleaning will be necessary. I have read that some clean and some don't, but given enough use, I would think that it would be necessary to clean. Perhaps the suppressor will have passed...
