Yeah, I thought about that. If I was shooting factory ammo of some sort, I would definitely hesitate, but I figure handloading I can get it into the moa-sub moa area. If not, I do have a Schneider 6.5 blank I can spin up. My other thought was to buy a Mack Bros Evo stainless and spin that barrel...
So, I have not shot any matches in the last 5 years, but now my daughter is wanting to train and start shooting a match or two a year. We prefer field courses rather than PRS type matches. She has a nice rifle built by a former GA smith that is perfect for her. It is chambered in the ancient...
That was my last 3 gun match and I loved all the matches run like that. I finished mid A flight and thought the way they did it was spectacular. Was a great match too...
Dave is one of the most stand up humble guys I have ever had the pleasure of shooting with. People like him are the reason people like me attended matches early on in their shooting careers...
I know it has been an awfully long time since I have posted on this forum, but it has been an awfully long time since I have cared to compete at a match. I left the precision long range match competition thing a long time ago, and it was for this exact reason. It became a totalitarian regime...
I have shot all three of the models you are looking at extensively. They all have their pluses and minuses. I would pick the one that felt best in your hand and then think about just how many matches you will actually shoot with it. For me, I would have a tough time paying quite a bit more for...
Wow. Once again the trip to K&M did not disappoint. The match was great, the weather was hot, and the shooters were on. I am blessed to be able to shoot these matches with the best group of people on the planet. I am proud to call them my friends. Thanks to the sponsors who really out did...
Good enough. I have sent a few back in the last 3 years and have since gone back to Nightforce, but not because of the problems, rather because I like Nightforce's business practices and products. I just think its unfair to bag on Premier without quantifying it when compared to other top...
Yes, I've read that thread completely. The 3-15 haven't had the parallax issues in several years, and the 5-25's that were produced by Optronika and have Optronika on the eyepiece did not have this problem. I do not have a serial number range for you. I am sure you can call Armament Tech and...
Yes, they have. The new production from Optronika does not have the issue that the former 5-25's did. And also you might want to understand that reading is fundamental. He was looking at the 3-15, not the 5-25 so the parallax issue is a moot point, correct? But that being said I have bought...
Wow. Just wow. The level of derp in this thread is amazing. Please google the parallax problems with Premiers. They had some issues with the 5-25's and they were all warrantied and taken care of. Now google the problems with the 3-20 S&B's. I know of 4 myself that weren't working right out...
I agree with this completely. Other disciplines of shooting have a zero tolerance policy and the RO's know it. I have seen several very big name USPSA shooters DQ'd at major matches. It happens, and they do not get a free pass. RO training is one of the biggest keys to safe matches. Bill
Well I guess the fact that the bolt open concept has worked up until this match has no bearing on the matter. Matches in several disciplines have been using the bolt back/open method for years, and its worked well. I'm really not trying to be a dick here, but if competitors cannot be safe with...
Eric, I understand the need for safety, believe me we've all seen things happen, and have heard the stories. I have been to several matches over the last 15 years, and only once or twice at a 3 gun match were competitors ever required to use a chamber flag. In a bolt gun, they do not stay...
