I have the Solus Bravo in .308 and it's a really nice gun for a good price. If recoil is an issue, add an Area 419 Hellfire Match and it really makes it a soft shooter (but loud, double up on plugs and muffs)
I have a Chargemaster Supreme and some 45-70 dies, and they all work great. Yes, this is anecdotal evidence and a sample size of one, but I've been pleased.
PRCslut, I usually shoot 10 shot groups when doing load development (got the idea from a Hornady podcast on load dev., I think it was episode 052). With the Sierra 168MK's, I loaded 48.0 gr. of CFE223 (1.0 gr. below max per that same Hornady podcast) and got a 1 3/8" 10 shot group. With 42.7...
I have the Wilderness version of your HMR, and mine didn't like any Hornady factory ammo or reloads. Mine did like Sierra 168 MK and 175 MK's that I reloaded with Varget, CFE223 and AA2495. I tried Hornady 155 AMax, 168 and 175 pills, and it didn't like any of them.
I have an EGW rail and it fits and works fine on my R700 in .223. They make good stuff. I can't argue with Lost_Phil though on having a rail with a recoil lug for heavier recoiling rifles. Without a recoil lug cast or machined into a rail, the shear forces of recoil are taken up by the...
Does anyone know if using a Criterion barrel that I normally would do with the Remage threaded barrel (and nut), would that fit the Solus action. Or would a Savage shanked barrel fit? Also, in the box for just the action it looks like it comes with a barrel nut, correct?
Is this the version that fits factory Remington 700 actions as I know they also make one that only fits clone actions? The rifle I might put this on is a Remington factory rifle.
Selling my 6.5CM reloading items as I've switched to 6mm BR Norma. I've reloaded around 100 rounds with these components (except for the powder). Powder will only be sold locally. Forster Benchrestr FL die set (sizer and seating die) in orig. red case - $75 100 Hornady 140gr BTHP bullets $30...
Spending the dollars we all do to enjoy the shooting sports, I'm with you that a tin of shoe polish certainly won't break the bank! I was just curious if anyone else used Imperial Sizing Wax as it makes sense that a die wax that keeps cases from sticking to dies would also work as a bedding...
I have a new Bergara B-14 Wilderness I am breaking in. I want to mount a Nightforce 20 MOA scope rail to it and had a question on release compounds. I usually see folks recommending shoe wax to spread on the receiver to release from the JB Weld (plus Play Doh in the screw holes). I have a tin...
I'm a lefty with right eye dominance, and years ago switched from shooting left handed to right handed for shotguns and rifles. It's amazing how the body can adapt. Switch shoulders!
I did a Remage to my Rem. 700 from 6.5 CM to 6BR and am very happy with it. Also used a Criterion barrel from NSS and put it in a KRG Bravo stock. As others have said, MDT magazines work just fine. Let us know how you like your build!
