I have explored this area quite a bit. I think there’s a lot of merit in the kind of rifle you are trying to build. My GP rifle progression went from T3 compact to Steyr and Ruger Scouts, to 16 in large frame AR’s then to Sig Cross 16 inch guns, and back again. There is no perfect answer. I...
There are some guys on the Jeff Cooper scout rifle Facebook page that want to hear about the rifle. A lot of people are running LPVOs on them these days.
I use a construction laser level to true the rifle vertically through action and stock in sandbags. Then, I project a vertical across the neighborhood onto an unoccupied structure. Align verticals and tighten carefully to avoid torquing scope out of true. It works pretty well. I used to use...
Mine has been disappointing. Maybe I have a lemon. About 2-3 Moa with most match ammo. 6 MOA with ball. Lapua, BH, Fed GMM, Hornady, Nosler. I tried a bunch of ammo in it. Coming soon to a used gun rack in Texas. I can get a MOA or better out of a decent gas gun, if I try off a bench and have...

Nordic components made some for DPMS in the past that got great reviews. I have one and it runs very well suppressed. It looks like they still make a dedicated upper. I bought it over others for proper manual of arms, as a trainer for kids.
I’ve got several of the above, but I keep going back to a 6.5 Grendel folder pistol. I know, no ARs , but it wins the most capable for the least form factor contest. I like scorpions and tavors and lever guns too.
Necro post, but I’m trying one out if you are still curious. Ammo availability has been a bit limiting. I’m noticing it will often stack 2 rounds then open up to somewhere between 1 and 1.5 MOA. I’m getting lower velocity than I would like, and as expected, .308 has an advantage in shorter...
The only time I have seen anything like what you are describing was when a suppressor started to get loose. My first thought was for the load as well, but it wasn’t...
