In Texas, no cars or hard alcohol on Sundays.
But, I think guns are fine .

NICS is automated, but expect the continued increase of pending review for people who have zero anything on their records. All the more reason to have a concealed permit/license in states that graciously allow you to exercise your rights and forego the checks when buying.
