Marshal dead in shootout in Charlotte

Suspect's name has been released. Terry Clark Hughes Jr.

No picture yet. But I'm fairly sure it's this same person who was 27, 12 years ago when the article was written. The name release says he's 39 as of today. So......fair chance.

I'll delete if it turns out to be someone else of the same name in the same area.

If that is the suspect, where is BLM?

Looks like he's been to the snackbar.

Details from media and non media sources trickling in. Appears that as the task force was approaching the residence, they were fired upon before attempting the knock.

The details after a still fuzzy. But at this point, the narrative is the main suspect was dead on the lawn and when LE attempted to approach the house after, they were fired upon again from inside. Which turned things into a several hour stand off. Reports are they used an armored vehicle to breech house later.

Seems they are unsure if the woman and/or juvenile in the house were shooting in the second wave, or if there were subject/s that might have escaped. Though since there is no safety warning to everyone in the area, it likely means they don't feel like anyone fled and it was one or both of the two occupants found inside.

The takeaways so far would be discussions on:

- What, if any felons should lose their 2nd amendment rights. Obviously not something that will be fixed anytime soon
- Utilizing dedicated "assault" (not a good word for domestic LE, but whatever) teams in conjunction with non daytime no knock warrants *properly*.

There needs to be more standards that are utilized the same at all departments/agencies when it comes to any type of high risk warrants. They need to be properly vetted as high risk. They need to be triple checked or more for the correct addresses and such. And they need to be undertaken via properly trained and dedicated teams for making entry into these types of situations. Using regular LE and/or Task Force Officers isn't a good way to go about high risk situations.

This is complete arm chair QB on my part at the moment, but it seems like they attempted a middle of the day, normal warrant, with regular LE.......on a subject that should have been high risk, and likely a different type of warrant performed (this is excluding the conversation of if a felon should lose the 2a rights, as there's nothing that can be done about that at the very moment).
This is such a slippery slope. Better to address the issues in the homes that produce these types of people (hint: submission to Jesus is the solution). Whatever "assault" force you are describing can just as easily be turned on other people deemed in opposition to the state (probably coming faster than many realize).

Does the “Fugitive Task Force” conduct raids for a felon in possession? I would think they would capture…fugitives… So this doesn't make sense unless he has multiple warrants out, which seems obvious to me, but probably not to a "news reporter". So it's something they wouldn't think to check out and report on.

Because the perp isn't white is why the "news" is withholding so much information. That we note how differently stories are covered by the "news" isn't racist. It's the coverage that is blatantly racist, just like it was the other way in the past. They don't bother digging into his past or speculating on his motive or criminal history, or really do any reporting but parroting the government line. This happens every time the shooter is a protected class on the intersectional hierarchy, and to point it out is logical not racist. We see it over and over and it is hardly a secret. This is true even when the shooter or victim is a hardened, career criminal with a lethal amount of illegal drugs in his system like George Floyd, or immediately after a robbery and an attack on a police officer like Michael Brown. So while people do jump to conclusions based on their biases, running a prevent defense every play makes sense if the other team throws a Hail Mary on first, second, third, and fourth down every time they get possession.

It sounds like they brought a lot of men and firepower, and clearly he was extremely/extraordinary dangerous. This just isn't the kind of OP that should happen unless you have the drop. He saw them coming, and they basically walked right into an ambush.

Not relevant to this case, but...
I can't help but think how this would be a normal day in paradise if the government did start confiscating citizen's guns. Yes, a lot of people would just submit to arrest and give up their legal firearms to the kings men, but if even 10% didn't this would probably be a common outcome and there would be no one left to do it in a couple of weeks. That Solzhenitsyn thing again...
I've seen a handful of live streams from neighbors etc. as the shooting was happening, imagine if even half of those were friendly to the one being raided and wanted to join in on the fun

I dont get why being a "cop killer" is double bad. I mean being a killer is bad.... duh. This irrational sense of self entitlement law enforcement has that they think they are above and better than everyone else is insane... that attitude is likely why people like this get pissed and shoot them. Im sure we can chalk this up as climate change or something.
Im sure 95% of cops are good, its that 5% that set the stage for the rest of them to have to deal with... I feel sorry for the most of them to have to deal with this sht.

Serious question- has anyone heard anything about a possible “friendly fire “ incident?
Nothing concrete just heard it mentioned a few time and was thinking on the possibility. If the one or both of the other two people in the house wasn’t the one doing all the Gunny Swaggert shooting who did ? Have a feeling this will go down like the Vegas shooting and no truth will ever be known .

Yes. Rest in peace, LEOs. Condolences to their families and friends.
Felons in possession of firearms, and gun trafficking, are what the ATF should do exclusively.
A have a buddy, former Ranger and one of the best and kindest people I know, who is a "felon" for having the audacity of driving though NJ with his guns unloaded in his trunk. The ATF shouldn't exist.

X 1000...

If the alphabet agencies and various LEAs solely devoted their efforts to going after violent criminals, recidivist felons, and people engaged in highly immoral and disgusting shit, and at the same time REFUSED the orders of woke elected parasites to harass gun owners and political opponents of the Dems, the entire armed citizen body would be in solid and unwavering support of them, and it is a support that means an unbreakable strength to keep this entire country safe. Saying YES to wholesome, pro-USA causes and campaigns, and saying NO to the woke/globalist is a quality that must be practiced by every deputized and sworn officials before this country can make the 180° turn needed to get back on course again.

That said, this case right here is looking more and more on the lines of a shitbag who shouldn't have been let back out onto the streets in the first place...
Key word "if"...and I agree with you. Reality is something different.

Every criminal who has done there time should have the same exact rights as non-criminals...or not be out in free society. It's not difficult to understand, nor to implement.

However "they" have made such difficult. Intentionally.

Happens QUITE often in prison too. Goes in as a Crips or Bloods street soldier, meets a self proclaimed imam in the lockup, and then comes out arguing that all the street crews need to accept the words of the Prophet and start a black caliphate... Fortunately not even their closest homies are in line with that. Instant gratification and easy money motivated gangstas are not the types to gravitate towards the austerity of religion, especially a hardline religion like Islam.

Unless they see political advantage making him out to be a hero. Then it really doesn't matter who he was or even what he did if they think it moves their ball down the field. How many mass murderers are heroes of the left? You think it matters how many people he killed or what kind of person he was? You are operating under the false impression that THE TRUTH matters more than THEIR TRUTH.
True. Like glorifying a druggie who robbed a woman and child at gunpoint for drug money and then he gets nearly canonized because people hate cops so much that the would rather sanctify him.

George Floyd's funeral and procession was bigger than that of George H.W. Bush.

Floggings for parent and child to start, à la Heinlein. And then a shit ass ton of good old fashioned hangings. Jail time for the not too bad folks that don't meet the above criteria. All of the jail to be farms. We'd be straight in a generation.

I understand your opinion of the ATF, but what did they have to do with your buddy’s arrest/conviction?

MikeTyson got Islam'd in the pen. It may have just been for show and protection. Not sure how long it lasted once he got out.

Now Ali, otoh, was a hardcore white, America hating Black Muslim to the end and didn't try and hide it.

Because he didn't want to be sent to Vietnam the government fucked up his life.
I wonder how you would feel if the government did to you what they did to him.

As a member of The Former Texas Rangers Assn. with ancestors that were former Rangers, I'd like to know the details about that.

Most of H.W.'s attendee's were his fellow deep state illuminati which were Democrats.

They all recieved their secret society envelopes.

Trump didn't get one and wasn't expecting one as he was the enemy.

Ali became a BM the night he beat Sonny Liston, Feb. '64, years before his name came up in the Vietnam draft.

I registered for the draft the day I turned 18 and would have gone if my number came up. If I would have refused to go, I guess I would have felt just like Ali when the government sent me to the pen with all the other draft dodgers.

Ali wasn't special.

A la "Number of the Beast."

And other stories, as well as the wisdom of Lazarus Long, AKA Woodrow Wilson Smith, AKA Captain Sheffield.

As far as dumbing down the schools, Heinlein was nailing it on the head when he wrote "Have Spacesuit, Will Travel."

Didn't say that he was special. Just saying that he was not any different than anyone else that detested the government for fucking up their lives because he didn't want to participate in their war. He just had a bigger platform than most to speak from.

I doubt ali would have fought in any war for the U.S., no matter what the circumstance. His first enemy was America and he was just one half step behind Hanoi Jane.

He wasn't any Joe Louis.

Floyd was a small time criminal compared to Bush.

Maybe you can enlighten me as to which war was FOR the US since the Pacific.
Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afganistan...any war where American military and recources were sent,
Ali wouldn't have participated, especially if it meant fighting his fellow Muslim.

He'd come up with some BS excuse about he didn't have anything against those (insert whomever we were fighting) people, that none of them ever called him a nagger.

The only thing those wars accomplished was to make certain people wealthier at the expense of a lot of American lives.

I agree. But Americans nutted up, put their lives on hold, some permanently, and answered the call.

Unfortunately, they'll probably do it again in Ukraine.

Here’s the thing, and thank you for locating this older news story about the subject in question. Story mentions one of the chargers as being possession of a firearm by a felon. There is more prior criminal history here, violent people need to do hard time and not skid-bids. If this turd of a human being was in prison where he belonged these officer funerals wouldn’t have to be planned. I put blame on the courts and DA’s for allowing these career criminals the ability to remain in our society. This is another tragedy that didn’t need to happen, not Monday morning quarterbacking these people need to remain in prison.
Turning police departments into SF snatch teams will not solve anything, unless they start roving kill squads that move around executing undesirables. That is not ok.
Until DA’s, judges, and courts start punishing criminals hard and fast, thus stuff will continue, but that will not be done.

You would only hope that they save all the video and use it as a training tool so this doesn't happen again.
Nothing stops a free on the street criminal who isn’t concerned about dying, from killing cops or civilians if they so desire.

This is true but when your in the business of serving high risk warrants you typically stack the odds in your favor and if the SHTF then worst case scenario the warrant becomes a toe tag.

Instead of fighting in Vietnam, we should've been killing socialists & commies here at home.
Yeah, or dug in at the border to stop the invasion, plus rounding up the invaders that have taken over some areas in the U.S.

That was the original purpose of the U.S. military, to protect our shores and borders from invasions.

Again, how were those wars FOR the US? In what way was any of them our problem?
List the reason that we got involved in any of them. Then try to ration out how it was our problem.

We still have socialists and commies here. Probably even more than we did back then.

And no one is stopping them.

Hindsight being what it is... I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that at least one Senator tried to bring attention to the very same thing you mentioned and of course was mocked for decades for his beliefs/suspicions.

I never said those wars were FOR the U.S.

I'm saying Ali wasn't going to join other Americans that were called to serve, for his own selfish America hating reasons. He wouldn't have gone even if there was a war FOR the U.S.
