Nice! Are you doing any brass prep/sorting? What kind of ES?
It is once fired case form my gun. so I just used rcbs match neck bushing FL size die to do resize and expander dies before setting. I think neck tune will be my next. And I find out the PRC brass form Hornady is not that bad LOL.

Im having good luck w the Hornady 6.5 PRC brass. I have weight sorted over 300 pieces and they are consistent.

Free bore is .188” and BTO is 2.237” coal is 2.988 with hornady 147 ELD 58.8 gr of h-1000 is where I settled this 300 yards I was testing at 100yrds but it keeps getting better the more I shoot and further I shoot have approximately 125 down the pipe as of today

Are you single feeding at 2.988 or found a binderless mag that goes out that far?

Barrel length, type or brass, and speed? Curious as your load is what I’m looking to do once I can find brass in stock anywhere....

I made a follower plate and single feeding , hornady fire formed brass , barrel is 27” carbon fiber proof research 1-8” I just did a ladder test with h-1000 and my chronograph is on the Fritz but when it did get speeds I was 2990 with 58.8 gr of h-1000 but ED and SD I don’t know till I get it fixed or replaced sorry hope this helps

Here is the Sierra 6.5 150 at 100 yards. Doing load development. I’m running the 6.5 prc with .188 freebore. Barrel is a gain twist 5R Bartlein. 7.5-7 26 inches long. I thought they would be a little faster. But its looking good. That is a 3 shot group at 100. 15 thou off the lands. Average velocity is 2991 SD of 3.

Short action? What is the COAL on the 150 for you? Powder?

Its a defiance xm deviant. Using there mags I have the room to load up to 3.25 inches. A loaded round at 15 off is 3.055. Base to Ojive is 2.342. Using Hornady brass weight sorted. Cci 200 primers and 59.8 grains of H1000. Gets me 2991. I found a lower node at 2930 ish. That is 58.8 of H1000.

Here is a 3 shot group at 100 of 58.8 of H1000 30 thou off with the 150smk. The barrel has 129 rounds on it. It has sped up. This load is now averaging 2983. The other load went over 3000 and the groups opened up. Next get the kestrel dialed in.

After my resent problems w Hornady 147 i might have to revisit the 150. I just had to single load them in my Surgeon WSM.

I got the kestrel dialed in. Was only able to get out to 600. I had a awesome group going but dropped the last shot low. Group is around 3ish inches. It shot great at 500. Then went to 300 and shot this 3 shot group. The kestrel was calling for .95 elevation. I put 1 on. .9 would be a little better. But its still in there. It called for .2 wind. I held straight up. And .2 would have been the right call. I’m really liking the Sierra 150s!!

Bullets blowing up, not making it down range.

Hornady said must be my fast twist and high velocity! I told them to explain to me how the first 500 from the 2018 lot had no issues but the 2019 lot w updated jacket I’m having issues with. I had 50 left from 2018 I shot the same day w no issues. The 19 lot was 2 feet higher at 800 yards and 1/3 of them turned to a cloud 150 yards out. Moving on. Having good luck w Berger 156 at mag length. The Hornadys might go in the garbage.

You 6.5PRC guys are killing me....us 300PRC guys are trying to find H1000 and Retumbo and you guys are scooping it all up...heh. And RL-26 seems to be some rumor of long ago...before the big bang bang.

Retumbo shoots wonderful for me....a little dirty...but shoots great.

Using RL-33 w my man card :p

What elevation and climate are you getting 3100 fps at?

And what kind of brass? Seems like Hodgdon is saying Max 56.5 for H1k and I was getting pretty bad pressure signs at 56 or so.

I feel your pain. Been waiting for RL26 since Jan. On my last pound and refuse to open it until I am out of ammo...100 rounds left.

I have resigned myself that I need to try the H1000 or Retumbo or something.... Been keeping my eye on what people are getting decent results with.
