Good stuff! Also, a future product suggestion: 2.5-15 x 50 version of the Cronus BTR... it'd make a great dual-purpose optic for hunting and moderate long range (800-1000 yards) target work.

This. I ended up getting an Ares BTR for the same reason. It's nice but the glass quality clearly isnt the same comparing it to my Cronus.

You spoke and we listened! Check out new exciting Athlon products coming out for 2019 based on all the feedback we got from our beloved customers including all the members here. You guys make a big difference! We are thrilled to work with you all to get more products out there in the Market in the future.

Key highlights for 2019:
- Have new floating center dot MIL reticle now available for Cronus BTR 4.5-29x56 riflescope.
- Have Xmas tree style reticle in both MOA and MIL with floating center dot for Midas TAC 6-24x50 riflescope.
- Add a 1-4.5x24 into Helos BTR line of scopes. This is designed together with active participants in Service Rifle Match. The elevation turret and reticle are specially designed for the Match and other applications for AR platform.
- Add a 15x56 in Cronus binocular family with ED glass and ABBE prism that is being used by high-end European brands. This product is great for hunting as an alternative to a spotting scope and spotting impact during a PRS competition.
- Add a 10x50 Rangefinding binocular in Cronus line. This product has amazing optics and is capable of ranging reflective targets up to 2000 yards and deer up to 800 yards.
- Add a compact 10x25 in Midas line of binoculars that are very popular and won multiple awards from several well-known third party institutes.
- Have production volume inventory for Cronus Tactical 7-42x60 spotting scope that has a specially designed first focal plane ranging reticle.

For what it is worth, I have been testing the Cornus 7-42x60 spotter for a bit now and I like it a lot. This is easily one of the better field spotter designs I have seen to date. I really like how flexible it is: on low power I can use it hand held, while at high power when supported in some way, you can see way out there.

Any chance for a reticle swap @frostyline? I got a BTR a few months back and want to upgrade. I would pay a reasonable price.

Doug, have they given you any idea when you will have the new products? I think one of the new Midas TAC’s will be on my shopping list as soon as you have them.

I have been told 1st quarter and possibly by the end of January.

With that stated I will add this......
I have been in this industry for decades and I only believe a date when I have an invoice with a tracking # on it. I hope for the best, expect the worst. Sometimes i am pleasantly surprised with delivery times, but I try not to get my hopes up. With that said I am happy with the new release products. I am excited to see these new products. I think the 10x50 Rangefinder binocular will be a GREAT addition to the current offerings out there. It's weight puts it with the competitions 10x42's.

We are accepting pre-orders so if you'd like to give a call and get something on order we can do that for you

It's good to see that they've been listening to their customer's feedback! Strangely enough, I think I'm most excited for the Cronus 15x56 binoculars. Will be interesting to see how they stack up to something like the Vortex Kaibab's and the Meopta Meostar 15s (although these are in a different price range).

Doug, do you know where the Cronus binoculars are being made? Is it Japan like the scopes?

The Cronus 15x56 bino is made in China by the factory that is making products for tier-one well known brands from US and Europe.

Cronus BTR scopes are made in Japan and Cronus binoculars are made in China, however, to high quality standards

Ok, good to know, thanks! They've proven they can manufacture good products in China, so I'll still be looking forward to seeing reviews on the Cronus 15s!

I just got off the phone with Athlon and the new Midas TAC are in stock.
Please give us a call to place an order, 516-217-1000

Let me finalize the sale on the kidney I don’t really need anyway and I will give you a call for a few optics :) In all seriousness I will be calling soon to order another TAC for my sons rifle. It is the perfect scope for him especially with the new reticle. Right now he has a Tract Toric on his rifle and while it is an excellent optic it is a lot heavier. At his age that 10oz of weight makes a big difference.

No love on the reticle swap question? Gr8fuldoug, I may sell the one you sold me and call you again next year.

Is this the one that is very (aesthetically) similar to the Bushnell LMSS? It seems the Bushnell LMSS had horrific CA issues, I trust the OEM or Athlon corrected it?

I've been waiting for the new Helos 1-4.5x to use in service rifle matches. I'll be calling you soon Doug.

I helped Athlon develop this scope and I have had the prototype on my service rifle since late October. I've been waiting for my match this weekend to post up my thoughts on the scope. I'll give you the short version: Looks like a winner.

p.s. my user title says new member and this is my first post, but I was on the old Hide site at Scout with this same username and my acct was apparently lost in the change. So not quite new here.

My understanding, and I will have more intel Tuesday after my meeting with them at SHOT, is that they are upgrading the illuminated reticle and release is being pushed out till May.
I'll keep you posted

I was cleared to talk about the scope literally a week ago today, and asked to post up on it. I will leave it to Athlon to discuss specific availability, but I will say there are pre-orders up on multiple web sites right now, in one case citing a March delivery.

I have been in this industry for literally decades. Accepting pre-orders on a product without a firm delivery date becomes a nightmare. Guesstimates of a product arrival has caused headaches for us in years past. We are of the firm belief that once a new product is actually shipped from the factory to the USA mfg it is safer to start accepting orders. Even then sometimes it becomes an issue as it may not pass QC once it is here. Case in point the Athlon Cronus Tactical spotter is a year late due to QC issues and a decision to do upgrades before releasing it.

We will keep you posted on real delivery times
