Bought an AIAT, getting things together for it.

The nipple bipod doesn't appear the be the way to go - what am I looking for as a replacement? Obviously a picatinny short rail and a Harris or Atlas bipod, but a lot of googling has given a lot of answers and opportunities to ratf#%^ an expensive long gun.

I already bought an action rail for it and would like to buy extra screws - any preferences or known good dealers for these things?

Bought an adjustable torque wrench and such, looking for a good cleaning kit if the rifle doesn't come with one. Probably going to use tried and true Hoppes if there is no reason I shouldn't while cleaning.

Pic of the fore of the rifle. Definitely prefer a picatinny rail as painlessly as possible, but don't want to guess which to get - hoping another AIAT owner can point me in the right direction.

People who don't use the ARCA or Picatinny Spigot should have to shoot pawn shop sporterized Mosins as punishment.

Seriously though, it's the best way to put a bipod on an AT IMO. I have an RRS ARCA rail for throwing it on a tripod but the bipod lives on the spigot.

Hoppes blows... Use wipe out...arca everything

If you can afford it just go ahead and get the Accuracy Obsession chassis forend now. Especially if you wanna buy once, cry once. If not, you’ll at least want to get the RRS arca rail posted above. Everything is arca and arca attachments now.
More or less blew my budget on the AI. I'm truly starting from scratch in the rifle world so a lot of extraneous stuff coming up.

Leupold Mk5hd 5-25 tremor3 in a spuhr 1 piece mount although I think I'm being baited here lmao ah the correct answer was s&b

How familiar are you with the Tremor? Will you use the wind dots?

Not very, but I need practice in general, so in a sense it's all the same to me learning wise. I assume I would use holds in competition instead of dialing for every shot - especially wind. I was looking at the MilXT on the ATACR (except that scope is like 3500$...) and this setup was sold by another hide member and just seemed to be the best setup for the best price.

Maybe look at the H59 or PR2 Mil. Tremor is a lot going on for learning, especially if you aren’t going to subscribe to the inventors methods.

Others may feel different (I hate Tremors personally) but you’re probably getting some clutter and potentially confusing bullshit that you won’t know how to use. As soon as you touch your elevation the wind dots don’t work anymore anyways.

I may have already bought it from another hide member on here

Sawtooth extended arca rail and Atlas bipod with Area419 arca mount. I find it a lot more enjoyable to shoot with that combo compared to my AI chassis with the spigot. If your rocking a 308 barrel and don’t reload then you need to add lots and lots of Federal Gold Match to your list of must haves.

As far as the cleaning supplies go get an AI bore guide (sold out everywhere a few months ago, may be back in stock), Tipton carbon fiber cleaning rod, nylon/brass brush, and jag. The pre cut patches make life easy, the good ones don’t leave pieces of fiber everywhere. I recently got a bottle of this:

And really like it. Their gun oil is good shit too. I followed the AI break in procedure on my first barrel, next one I did an initial cleaning then just shot it. No difference in accuracy observed.

You can get many ideas from the 204 page AI pic thread pinned at the top. My employer spent a lot of hours for me to view through all 204 pages. Before starting I thought I knew the direction my AXSA in 30hate, now I need more AI's. So far in have only bought a Straight Jacket 6.5 out of the PX. Lots of PX options if your quick. Good luck with your AT. I would hate to see the size of the rabbit that lives in the AI rabbit hole, prolly has more gold chains than Mr. T and bigger than King Arthur's pet dragon.

People only hate tremor reticles because they don't know how to use them 🤣

You'll be fine with a T3. Very easy to use and fast. Less crap to clutter your head despite what it looks like. Personally I like the T2 design better but T3 works well too.

Got the scope in today. Nicest piece of glass I’ve ever owned, crazy clear. Little weird (counter intuitive) how the bottom of the reticle washes out of view at higher magnifications but easy enough to dial for if you just spin the elevation I guess. Thing is built like a tank

I agree but in the zoom range you will find the scope most useful in prs will basically keep the full "tremor" part in view and kill the grid on the bottom. I'd have liked to see the wind dots carry on to 11 or 12 mils to be more useful on a 308 at range.

I think you'll find dialing with a T3 is less effective than other tree reticles. I've done both ways with the T3 and haven't touched my dials since trying it lol. Holds only, it's what it's designed for.

As as advertised. Y'all bought literally all the arca shit so I'm running a picatinny accessory for a while.

Mile High has Arca spigots in stock still…

I decided to order an AI AT from euro optic and the low scope rail. Anyone happen to know the torque spec on the rail screws. Not trying to derail the thread. Feel free to PM me and I can delete this post. I’ve search and can’t find it on the hide
