    Don’t. Don’t do it. Nothing makes you look more guilty of covering up flyers than putting a penny next to a group of touching impacts. Thought that group was like 1.5 MOA but now that the penny is there I see that it’s only 1/2! Sick bro!

    Seriously though, fingers and money don’t make you a better shooter. We’ve all been there.

    god this pisses me off. every time i see someone on IG post a pic like this i call them out.

    we know how big bullet holes are. we also know the grid on your target is most likely 1". get your stupid coin out of the picture. even if you aren't covering a flyer, you just look like an idiot.

    only time it's appropriate to put something in the picture for scale is shooting a steel plate at distance. i've seen people put their hand or kestrel or similar in view for reference
     
    Pennies are deceptive. Much better to erase the flyer in photoshop.

    Only time I've done it is on ungrided targets using a quarter to use in the On Target software. I can't remember ever posting any of those on line though, but I'm getting senile so its entirely possible that I have.

    10 shot is the absolute minimum to tell you anything, and it's still pretty much nothing, 'cept maybe, "gun's zeroed". I always try to get to a match the day before or really early on the day to shoot at least a fouler and check zero. Nine times out of ten I don't need to make an adjustment. It's more for confidence and piece of mind.
