It’s been a full year of waiting. I paid in full for a action with the Barloc system. Spoke to them several times and always got the same runaround. Now I want a full refund and will only deal with legitimate manufacturers with realistic lead times. Not sure if anyone else feels the way I do. They have had more than enough time to fill my order btw it was #191X and from what I’ve seen others with higher numbers already have they’re actions .

Have you contacted ARC and discussed the situation recently before you brought it to a public form?? I know you canceled the order recently but just curious what “runaround” they were giving you...
While I can't speak to your situation directly, I was in a similar position with JAE for a gen 3 chassis system. Seemed like others got theirs before mine. I held in there and when I got it, the wait seemed insignificant.
I went through the EXACT same situation. I ordered a lefty mausingfield action and paid in full. I was told 8 weeks. 7 weeks rolls around and I called Ted and was told it wasnt even close. Would be about 8 more weeks. At that point I was getting pissed. Waited a few more weeks and checked on it again. Guess what? 8 more weeks Ted says. Well, I said just give me my money back. I dont have a problem waiting for stuff but dont bullshit me. If you dont know when or its gonna be 6 months, just say it.
In a world where you can have a Curtis Axiom in days, I will never understand how people wait so long for other actions. I have thousands of rounds through a few Axioms and a Vector. Great actions. Sorry to hear of your troubles with the order. I just put together a new rifle yesterday with another Axiom.
This is why I went with the Origin from Big Horn. The group buy got way too big and I know how impatient I am.

How in the hell can an order still not be filled from the initial group... Jesus I have bought and sold 2-3 Nucleus since then.
I'm not sure how you haven't received your action yet. I've had mine a while. Was your action a lefty long action edm cut with unicorn hair or something?
Honestly, I have a nucleus and felt the curtis recently. I prefer curtis and felt some buyers remorse. I think you made a good call, I'm not gonna pre-order shit anymore either.
Love my curtis. I came real close to preordering the Archimedes for a 338 build. Looking hard at the Kelbly now, out and proven.

Yea I would have done the same. There is too much competition in this market, just move on.
Those are my two choices also, Curtis and Kelbly. Got a few of each, both are solid performers and very smooth. And if you call either one of these folks they're going to bend over backwards to take care of you as fast as possible. I've talked with both about minor things, spare parts for match box, and customer service is top-notch. People here talkin about waiting weeks for an email return and I can send Chase Curtis a text and get the answer immediately. As someone else mentioned here above me, this is too competitive a market to put up with that kind of b*******.
Who did the stock?. Did they have the action or no?
The stock was made by Foundation. The action is Axiom by Curtis Custom, which they have in stock on their website for $1095. This stock is made out of micarta, and has an unusually solid feel. Very durable also from what I've been told. It's an unusually nice stock, just got it the other day.
You will like the Kelbly Tac action if that's the one your referring to, super smooth and simple design and the best part easily obtainable.
They are great people to deal with as well, very prompt in response to questions and helpful.
Give Bighorn a look also, both the Origin and TL3 are excellent actions, have prefits galore if your into that also. They can be found on the shelf at several dealers and the customer service is excellent.
If this was recently then it most likely has to do with the redesign of the Mausingfield and Ted stated in one of his posts that he was holding back Mausingfield orders while he finalized the revisions.
When you can get a tax stamp and form 4 done faster by the government. That’s a problem.
On what hand I understand this on he other hand I feel it’s pretty uncool. People being delayed by a revision they don’t know about that changes the action to something they didn’t order/are waiting on.
I can understand it on something that is preordered and not released yet but I feel like people should be notified on something that has been out for a while and is being redesigned.
It sucks when this stuff happens, but it pays to not be a pushover when you call and ask about things (that doesn't mean be a dick). And there are two sides to this...
1. With these smaller businesses, the guy you're calling is busy as fuck cranking out parts as fast as he can. Your phone call is just like everyone else's phone call asking where they are in line, and it is taking him away from making parts. This slows down production, and causes more phone calls.
2. Your phone call is just like everyone else's phone call, so it's important to ask pointed questions that make the guy dig a little deeper and find your specific invoice, order #, etc. etc...
I've been the guy running machines, at LRI, and had people call and ask about their build, or change orders etc... And I don't know the ins and outs of everyone's build/order, so when someone calls in and asks pointed questions specifically about their order, I can find mistakes. Like we thought you were waiting on X part to come in, but you actually never wanted that in the first place so we can continue working on your build...
I don't know the specifics at ARC, but I imagine your order got stuck in an eddy somewhere in order flow. Lost order, waiting on the next batch of Barlocs to run, something stupid like that.

I think most people realize that "shit happens" and orders can get delayed. But...two things that stand out in many of these threads; there is a lack of timely communication by some shops when a delay is encountered or inquiries are made and that "shit happens" repeatably with the same shops.

Yeah last year was a shit show for both ARC and PVA. I've seen it fairly consistently over the last couple years for PVA. Never really seen issues with ARC before the Nucleus that I remember.. I mean magazines, but I dismiss magazine complaints because of fitting and cartridge variation reasons people have issues with all of them.
Probably insult to injury to the OP but I got my Nuke in 1 month, order to delivery, and haven't ever had an issue with Ted&crew personally. I also don't pre-order anything. I've bought enough 1st gen stuff in the past to grow patience and let the bugs get worked out first.
Just buy a damn Remington adl from Walmart and be done with it.
He must have been holding shit back for over a year then. Look, Ted puts out some awesome shit. No question there. But, he sucks at running a business. I own two businesses in retail and shitty customer service will kill you. Ted needs to stick to what he does good and let someone else run the front end for him. I know how it is, money controls everything and it's a tough world out there, but he is going to run his business in the ground.

I’ve never had an issue with ARC. I’ve ordered several parts from them and have tracking within a day with the exception of my Nuke. Maybe they take care of the northwest folks first lol.

Man I've seen so much bitching in the past few days in regards to ARC and PVA, y'all need a suppository to chill the fuck out. Treat if like ATF jail, fire and forget then when you get the email to pay get after it cause it will ship within days. These are relatively new products and if you need something by a deadline for a competition then order something in stock.
Before you start jumping in people’s shit, you might do a little homework. The complaints voiced above, with regards to these particular companies, are NOT new.
I get this approach, I really do. ANd I have no dog in this fight, but coukdn't help point out the obvious.
With NFA toys, you KNOW there's going to be a long wait, so the above approach is the accepted norm. Pay, a year late it shows up, you go have fun.
With an action, the above does not apply. If you're told 8 weeks, you have a reasonable expectation of it taking, wait for it... 8 weeks. To be led on, multiple times, with the same time frame given each time, is BS. I had a sportbike sit in two different shops for almost 10 months of last year. Both strung me along with continual BS, and both had me bringing the bike back multiple times after I'd paid in full. For someone to lead you on like that, intentional or otherwise, is unacceptable, no matter how good the product is or how cool the person is. I knew one of the shop owners personally (granted, he died in a plane crash while my bike was there, and that's when things REALLY went downhill), and I still got on his case about his employee's work. I'd be upset as well if I was going on a year after being quoted 8 weeks three separate times!
I ordered it with full length arca rail and Hawkins bottom metal. Just dropped my barreled action in. Easy peasy.
I've seen like 3-4 threads on this, I pre-ordered a Nucleus got it in November and sent it to a well know smith and boom two weeks later have a barreled action. If i recall the action was supposed to be ready like mid-summer or something, but oh well i got it when i got it, knowing that new products coming on market often have mfg delays.
