you should be happy its a small dog and not a new found land with gas issues lol at least the pup is happy .
I have a fuzzy growth there too but mine is of the feline persuasion. It takes less than 2 minutes before she materializes from a hiding spot, especially if there’s a blanket involved
Gorgeous dauchs! Is that a chocolate...? Enjoy her! Our choc passed a few years back at 12.5. She was the runt of her litter and not supposed to make it to a year. We still have he mom 18.5, and dad 16.5. Our male, my bud covets the same position... if i don't acknowledge he lets out increasingly louder barks until he gets what he wants... not spoiled, though...

Had a 120Lb. male Rott. that would do the same thing. We were hell on recliners. Had to replace two, during his life time (10.5yrs.). My best friend. You are lucky. Mac
Coming from a cat owner, not sure I can agree with this. I’ve watched tons of gootube videos of dogs trained to do some fucking amazing things. Cats are just lazy assholes

as far as the wiener dogus..... if i sit, she’s gotta take that spot. if someone lays down on the couch for a nap-doesnt matter what she’s doing, she has to get it on it. oh, and blanket....she wants her share, and some of your share, of the blanket.
she does blood track though, and it’s amazing how she can follow a tiny amount of blood for such a long distance in such short amount of time. here in a bit less than a month i hope to have her getting some actual live tracks on bowkilled deer. we’ll see how all that goes.

Inside the freezer no problem.
Deer trail would be childs play.
May not even need blood.

Dachshunds are great, we had one growing up but she was a one person dog... loved to be under a blanket.
I have a cat that waits for me to sit in a chair in the livingroom. When I do, she hops up, looks at me with the 'assume the position look' and then sits in my lap like a person and puts her paws up on my arm while I hold her as she sits there. She then watches entire soccer games like that.
I also have 2 pugs that basically lay ontop of each other all day.

Here's my best friend. He's mostly APBT, some Azores cattle dog, and splash of plott hound mixed in. Real strange personality for a mostly pit dog, super independent but still loyal as the day is long. Medium-low energy but an absolute monster at tug of war and chasing down game.
My mostly weenie also loves the inside of a blanket. In fact we named her Roo as in Kanga and Roo from Winnie the Poo. If you have a hoodie on she’ll dig her way underneath
My dog weighs 110 lbs and tries to do the same thing. He steps in the wrong place and your having a bad time.
When I pull up in my truck in ANY farmyard I can tell how things will go down just by how the cats and dogs react.
It is not the breed or species of any animal, It is how you raise them.
I expect dogs to be protective and cats to just lay there and sog unless it is an attack cat. Watch out for those MFs. They mean. They mean to chew your arm or leg off unless spoken to by their SO. Damn, I hate cats but do respect them. I have had a few neat cats over the years myself. Never again. Too old to put up with their shit.

This was my new beagle girl back in January. Her name is Daisy. We are pretty much inseperable. I swear that she is 24 hour entertainment.
Four of them, all good lady kitties ranging from 7lb to 19lb. I'm usually never alone thanks to them. They stay indoors, the only issue is the litter boxes.
One of them likes to ride on my shoulder. Another (the oldest, smallest) sleeps all night on my lap atop the bed covers.
There are also a pair of Jack Russell/Chihuahua mixes; litter mates, brother/sister. They are Elena's (Granddaughter going on 24), and they are buddies for everyone in the home.
