I am starting to think this was the plan all along. By holding a kangaroo hearing in the House and actually having a straight down the line partisan vote Pelosi has kept the "impeach the motherfucker" crowd happy while having something to hold over Trump. It will never (and was never) going to Senate trial. Why? It is campaign capital for the "big one" in 2020. I can hear the "Well we impeached the Motherfucker but the Republican Senate would hold a fair trial". "The only way to get rid of Trump (since he's gonna get reelected) is to give our asses(democrats) the House & Senate majority. After all, we still have these articles of impeachment. Put us in charge and we'll hold a fair trial and throw him out!"
I guess the asses (democrats) haven't been watching the news, except for the outlets they control, because "The Motherfucker" received a record $5 MILLION in campaign donations yesterday alone.

BTW, I heard a congress-bitch from MI being interviewed on FOX over the weekend. She said "We are sending Trump a message". Her message was really saying they didn't want to follow through with the articles once passed but just let him know they were after him.

EDIT: Well, it was during Slick's second term when he was impeached. BTW, the outcome of the Senate trial was not guilty because of ten spineless Republicans. Don't know how much more than Clinton's admission he lied under oath they needed to change their mind.

I have seen nothing that says once articles pass the House they have to be acted on within a certain timeframe. Yes, as I said above, they could wait it out BUT there is the risk this dog & pony show will cost them the House majority and widen the GOP hold in the Senate. At this point there is a Senate seat held by Doug Jones(D) here in Alabama. The strength of Trump here could very well oust Jones in favor of GOP taking back the seat Sessions once held (for eternity). Mark this down, Democrats will do ANYTHING necessary to get Trump out. he's got the bloodhounds on their trail and there could be hell to pay.

McConnell will never agree to any terms and Schumer is in the minority. News cycles are terribly short today and the longer Pelosi holds off the higher the risk of it fading away and the public loosing whatever interest was left which isn't much at this point.

....and Trump isnt impeached until they send the articles of impeachment to the Senate. So it entirely possible now they held their fake hearings, took the fake vote, found him guilty of the 2 charges, and yet still havent managed to impeach. Sending the articles is what actually triggers it. Comedy gold.

Problem the Democrats face if they continue is no one is allowed to campaign while the impeachment is going on.

It seems like many people don't understand exactly what impeachment means. Simply stated it means just bringing charges (think of them as cops/district attorneys) against a POTUS (or higher ranking government employees). It is NOT a trial. The trial takes place in the Senate where the Senate acts or rather supposed to act as an impartial jury. Just hoping that clarifies things for the few ignorant here. (Ignorant is not a bad thing by the way, it simply means not knowing something. We are ALL ignorant of something!)

The problem is all the ignorant people think this means something. Not shit is going to happen.

Another interesting point...TRUMP NOT IMPEACHED...YET! Trump is not technically impeached, according to the Constitution, until the Senate is notified that a vote was taken in the House and the POTUS lost so the Senate must take up a trial. Until THAT happens, he is not...POTUS not impeached...YET! The Senate/the Turtle can then take their own sweet time of when a trial will be held...just like the Turtle is holding those 200+ BI-PARTISAN bills. Right now, the Turtle must feel like Superman, the most powerful man in the world...

Nah, Pence would have an ‘accident’ and Pelosi, as presumably still speaker of the house, would rise to the top. I said it right after the 2016 election, Maxine Waters backed me up on it in 2017.

Another thought...The Dems, theoretically could hold the articles of impeachment until 2021, after a new Senate is sworn in if donald wins and the Dems control both houses. They could present the articles then! The possibilities are endless...

Any legislation that is not passed by both houses and signed into law before the new Congress is seated (such as Impeachment). Is null and void.
They would have to do it all again. This is my understanding.
