The question I have (and I know there are other threads out there), is the 7-35 worth the price premium over the 5-25 for PRS-style shooting (non-ELR) where the typical magnification used is 12-18x ? I currently have a Gen2 Razor and don't know that I've ever been on 27x other than a prone KYL stage at 700+ yards.

I have no hands on experience with either, so take this with a grain of salt and maybe someone who does can offer more input. But looking at their specs, they are very very similar. half inch difference in length 1 ounce in weight, 3.5' FOV on the low end. It doesn't look like you lose much at all on the low end, but gain 10x on the top, all in a package that is very similar size.

Valid question, though I don’t know that there’s any one answer to it. Some guys like having the extra magnification for one reason or another. Others may look at it and say it’s pointless because they never shoot there.

I can’t recall a situation in which I ever needed 25x during a match, much less 35x. That’s not to say that I’d never use it but other than using it as a pseudo-spotter of sorts, I just don’t see any time I would absolutely need it. YMMV.

Im glad they incorporated the half mil dots in the tree like tangent in their new reticle as well.

Wow, love it. Can't wait to pick up a 7-35 Mil-C in the parts exchange so I can start lusting after this

Not seeing anything online yet. Maybe a teaser to get everyone amped for SHOT and then give a release date then. Or someone just went to extraordinary length to spoof the entire community. Either way it's outstanding.

There is an advantage on the 7-35 versus the 5-25 regarding the parallax. You can focus the target at 8 yards on the 7-35, but not the 5-25. Not sure this is applicable to the PRS question, but awesome for a .22 trainer.

That is a good point that I didn't realize, thanks. Someday I'll build a Vudoo trainer rifle, having to add a $3k optic on top might delay it a bit longer

Maybe what I'm really asking is this --- ignoring the extra 10x on the top end and the closer parallax that the 7-35 gets you, is the 7-35 optically superior in any way to the 5-25? If you looked at both scopes side by side at 15x (typical PRS usage) would you be able to see any difference?

Looks really good.. I don't particularly like 3 MIL of windage at 1 MIL elevation. Would rather keep 1 MIL line clean to better spot misses and have the tree start at 2 MILs elevation or so.

Other than that, well thought out reticle. I love my MIL-C and this keeps the tree huggers happy.

I have all the versions and I wouldn’t say that there is optical superiority between the 4-16, 5-25, or 7-35 with respect to the glass. I don’t miss targets cause I can’t see them. I’m just a power whore for the most part. Since the 7-35 came out I’ve grabbed up 3 of them. The clarity at 1500 and beyond is unreal, especially since the parallax is so fine and can actually be adjusted at that distance. It’s the scope version of a Swaro STR 80 spotting scope.

Atacr sales are probably about to skyrocket. Good time to pick one up on the exchange if you like regular mil-c.

ATACR sales have been strong all year. Very strong on the extremes: 1-8x and 7-35x, and steady in the middle. Comes in all flavors. Lots of Mil-C and also H59 and T3. Slow in the MOA, but steady.

"This reticle will be available in ATACR 4-16x, 5-25x and 7-35 F1 models and we are excited to get this reticle into production for early 2019 shipments." I know this will be at SHOTSHOW. My guess is Feb. NF does not diddle around. Also, featured in Edition #40 of RECOIL Mag., Nov 24th.

ETA: Hmm, too late now. I think I was not suppose to say anything until the Recoil Magazine. But, I was given November 24th as the issue date, but just looked, and not online yet. Well, I am sure nobody will read my post anyway... Sorry, NF...

Perfect. Welp I’ll be getting this. Anyone taking pre orders?
@Covertnoob5 @bullseye13 -- I know a guy. We have I think 8 spots open for our first shipment. I usually do not like to take money until we have a shipping date.

liberties taken as Charlie's is pleased to announce the mil-xCCC reticle, now available on Instagram.:ROFLMAO:

Damnit to hell. Just when i think I’m set or near about this happens. Looks like I’m gonna have to find a way ?

Seriously solid reticle. 2/10th mil deviations on the vertical that aren’t all the same. Love it. I can’t afford myself ?

Luckily, I'm scope light right now and need a dmr-ish and ELR scope.makes it tough to choose between the 4-16 and 7-35. :)

Supposedly 7-35's will be first followed by 5-25 and 4-16 in the 2nd quarter.

I’ll go up to 25X on the 1000+ yd stages if I don’t have too big transitions, but I’ve never felt I needed more. For me 7X minimum is too much. I’d prefer less than 5X but I can live with it. ELR? Sure! Tactical steel and it’s way overkill IMO.

I like it. I like it a lot. Although I'm with the others that are hoping to pick up a cheaper mil c once people start dumping them for the latest and greatest ;)

NF already has a big following but i think this will convert a lot of people like myself that were always on the fence due to reticle selection.

I can’t wait to pick up my cheap mil c scope now. Cuz the Mil c is now broken, practically worth 50% less now ??

If you cover shipping, I'll send you my MIL-C... I'll never hit another target again with an outdated reticle. ;)

J/K... I've got stuff in my freezer older than the MIL-C

Will they offer an update for present owners? I know there is a charge but does anyone know or do I need to sell my MIL-C
