Rifle Scopes SHOT 2019

This time around, I will be there for the duration of the show since I found a reason to be there on behalf of my dayjob in addition to my side gig of writing about optics. If you anyone wants to meet at SHOT, please PM me and we'll work something out.

This time around, I am also bringing help, so to speak. A friend of mine who generally does social media consulting of all sorts will come along to help me get updates out quicker than I normally do.

I will, naturally, have my usual SHOT show wrap up at a later point, but we will try to get my take on things up on my social media channels pretty quickly, since the process of getting it all uploaded to Instagram and Facebook is nicely streamlined.

Most definitely. I am doing a mental checklist on what to bring with me. One of the more entertaining things is just hanging out in the Press room and listening to print media gun writers talk to each other. It is a good way to get your BS filter ready for action.

It's cheap for this site, but I would like some info on the new Bushnell AR series 1-8x24, please. SWFA has it listed on their site, but no info. Can't find anything anywhere! Thanks for considering!!

If you see POF's P300 take some pics and ask some questions, they have been holding it back from market trying to work out an issue that manifested only under hard use. IIRC it was something like three mags in 30 seconds, basically simulating sacrificing it to the blood god in a combat situation, but folks have been waiting a long time for them to start selling them all the same.

I'll check it out, but I'll be honest with you: I am not a POF fan. I had some less than optimal experiences with them years ago and completely ignored everything they have done every since. Perhaps, I should revisit them this year.

I'll swing by Bushnell. Vista is a confusing company for me since I can't figure out what their strategy is with all those brands, but it sounds like they are streamlining their optics line-up step by step.

They put out some bad stuff awhile back, but I've heard the last couple years they have really picked things up. From reading their replies to questions about the P300 and its growing pains it seems they are being open about things, but it's a bit presumptive of me to assume transparency in any regard. IraqVeteran8888 ran a P415 for ~2700 rounds with no malfunctions which made me think maybe I should check them out again.

A couple of people I know have a 300WM from Nemo Arms and seem happy with it.

Nemo's offerings are extremely compelling, I actually kind of figure I'll end up with one of their more affordable 300's with an Ultra 9 for hunting. Noreen Firearms has that new ELR bolt action that takes Rem 700 triggers and non-proprietary mags, and they've had a semi-auto adjustable gas 300WM for awhile which looks promising. Falkor seems to have the best reviews for a tactical semi 300WM out of all of them, but fewer, they are more uncommon and especially expensive.

LOL! Truth! I can remember sitting in their a few times, listening to a couple of the writers talking smack, or name dropping to each other....BS filter definitely needed (and tuned) for sitting in their for any period of time.
