Start of my PSA 6.5 GEN3 20" heavy AR10 series 👊💥👊

Just watched the first video. ( gonna watch the next video later, and looking forward to your reloading results )

Very thorough review. Thank You for taking the time and expense to educate us.

I enjoyed your liberal use of the bore scope, before and after, etc... I wish they had been readily ( cheaply, Lol ) available earlier.

Considering a brand new barrel, and a "random" ammo, and upper / rifle cost.... I consider those groups danged good.

I have had very good results with Horn. AG 140gr "Bulk" packed, it can still be found for as low as 85 cents per round. ( plus 16 bucks shipping / 400rds. )

A few questions, if I may

Did you happen to measure the FP hole on the bolt ? ( Or did I miss that ).. just curious.

What length and weight is the buffer ?

BTW.. the MIAD Gen 1.1 , Type 2 will get rid of that gap.
I am also a huge fan of those specific 6-24 FFP Vortex scopes. Heck of a deal when they were on clearance at Euro Optics.

Do you typically shoot off a bipod ? Again , just curious.

IM sent.

Sorry, didn't measure thenFP hole but its small and didn't take out the carbine buffer yet. Trying to keep it bone stock other than the trigger for the average Joe that can barely afford an ar10. As in the video, all shots off a Harris bipod and rear bag. Now I have the voetex 6-24 FFP with vortex 20moa precision mount on the 6.5 Creedmoor ar10 👊💥👊

The Average Joe price for the PSA 65 is what allowed me to get into 6.5CM S/A, So certainly a very well thought out , great approach on your part.

FWIW, I only asked about the FP size because ToolCraft has slowly moved towards a smaller FP hole over the years on 308 BCG's , and lots of folks are concerned about the FP hole size.
And if all it takes to help with primer "support" issues is a adjusted measurement / dimension on the half of a manufacturer, than that is good for all of us. So I guess more of a curiosity thing.

Thanks for the annealing video, I wasn't aware of the model.

Glad I re-found this thread, I was enjoying the sizing video. I was under the impression you shouldn't just bump semi brass so that's a really interesting revalation in my mind anyways.

Do you usually use the Imperial Wax on your case necks inside every time you load or is that part of your die break in process?

In my opinion, for a semi auto, you should bump the shoulder about .003 from fireformed... bolt action is a whole different beast. I do next to nothing for a bump for bolt action at about .001 and will test that brass in the bolt action and feel the headspace resistance thru the bolt handle if its too tight

Internet bullshit of course. like Abraham Lincoln said 80% of things on the web are false.

LOL, I was hoping you'd say that and not on here. FL sizing and bumping shoulders is quickly becoming the preferred method. There are OTHER methods and they can and do work for some people, they're not "wrong" per-say.

For autos...I can't figure out how bumping shoulders would be bad...but I can think of a few reasons why not bumping shoulders would be bad lol

Just watched the first video and wanted to say *Thank *You* for putting this together. If I become gainfully employed again I'm having me a 6.5 Creedmoor AR Platform gun and yer input is inspiring me!

That is great performance at the price point.. the 41.1gr groups are simply amazing.

I am a little speechless.
