So I purchased an older King Cobra (1994 Enhanced) and hadn't done squat with it. I just ordered some combat grips for it, and figured I'd at least see how it shot with the factory rubber handles still on it.

Took the revolver to the shop with the wife and girls on tow, and threw up a silhouette target at 12 yards. Loaded the gun with six rounds of 1987-loaded .38 Spl, 158gr SWC that I helped dad with when I was a kid. Took my time and shot the first six rounds SA into the group in the first photo. For a new gun I was pretty stoked.

Loaded it up and handed it to my wife, boasting about how soft a revolver that size shoots, and that it was the perfect size for her to get familiar sooting revolvers with. She then proceeded to shoot the group in the second photo, also at 12 yards. Yes, I'll have to figure out what kind of frigging sight picture she was using, but she just about bested me.

I've worked with her before with semi-autos. She proved to be a very fast learner. But this was really her first time shooting a revolver in anything other than .22LR.

Now 'she' has a new revolver, and I apparently have to go cast a bunch of bullets for it.

Ladies who can shoot well and enjoy it cause me a bit of giddiness.

Like some of these fellas around here with giant boobs on the instantgram attention whores.

Good for you. And yes, she will remind you of this often! 😆
Making ammo for your kin to be proficient with their tools is a joy, at least in my book.

Slash, gonna have to buy another one. Same thing happened to me 20 years ago and although she rarely takes it out to shoot, she plays with it like a fidget spinner pretty often. She’s never going to give it back.

Next year I'll be picking up a Diamondback in .22LR. Blew my wad this year on that thermal that is in for repair.

Hopefully she relinquishes the King Cobra for that.

Women don’t suffer from the debilitating condition of thinking that they can shoot because they are a man. As a result, they take to instruction better. Not having the pressure of the honor of the entire male gender weighing on every trigger pull allows them to shoot with less stress.

My wife shoots pistols and revolvers ambidextrous and has her NRA de rocker.

She puts on a show for people at the range where she covers an eye at a time and shoots with iether hand then swaps.

She can do this with long guns shotguns and a bow.

Pretty much shuts up a newbie rso or instructor that has an attitude about women shooters.

The sport needs every shooter they can get .

She shoots womans league pistol and rifle and it is much more a social event than just shooting.

The men are invited a couple times a year, can you say fund raising, I knew you could.

If you don't want your woman to take your toys hide them.

I'd take it as a good sign she likes shooting or she is just that good either way you can rest a little easier knowing if the shit hits the fan she could be of use to you rather than a hindrance . you are lucky you got a keeper there my ex would wince at the sight of a gun let alone the ones hanging on the was she would break down in tears it was funny for a while then just dam annoying . I always wanted to hang animal heads on the walls to watch her implode just for shits and giggles .

i only had one woman i taught how to shoot that should just stay away from guns. the rest have been excellent students and very good shots as a result.

i lost a smith 66 in the same manner as the OP. it aint so bad and i dont mind.

Same here. My wife loves to shoot the S&W 66. Notice I didn't say my S&W 66.......

She's actually a Veterinarian and has patched me up several times.

I'm really lucky that she's so comfortable around guns. I've got three sitting out right now, and even with two little ones in the house...not one nervous peep from the wife.

Taking the princess to the range tomorrow. She has outshot me before on an old series 70 colt I rebuilt especially to fit her hand properly. After the gun was rebuilt (and I spent more on the rebuild than if I had just bought her a new Kimber, etc.) she shot a tighter group than I did. After a moment of reflection, and examining my ego, I realized the result was precisely what I should have wanted. I actually take it as a compliment when I teach someone how to shoot and they “take the lesson” well!

I don't know what it is but I've found a lot of times women shoot better than men. My wife can and has outshot me before, both with my handgun and my rifle, which can be frustrating when she has no idea what she's doing half the time 😂 she's a fast learner though and does enjoy going to the range with me, just not always when I try and teach her things. She's got natural talent though, I'm thinking about building her her own long distance rifle so she can go shooting with me more

I did the last part of this post...a couple of times...Just build what you want and make it something she's capable of shooting. Otherwise you end up with a rifle neither of you are going to shoot, and its going to hang out in the back of the safe. :)

My wife has a couple guns I hate having in my home. Real useless stuff. She won’t allow me to get rid of them! More than one wife is crazy.

She’s looking over my shoulder the other day while I’m opening a new toy and I’m sweating. Then she does it, but she hits me up for something else... a craftsman tool pouch unused on the bench. I quickly gave it to her for my own safety.
