The guy they apparently used as the model for Wile E. Coyote was killed doing stupid shit. The guy was a flat earther who apparently thought gravity was just a silly concept. The end result was as expected, look for it Discovery channel later this summer.

With some luck, he hit hard enough to get to the bottom of that money pit on Oak Island and we can finally find out what is down there.

Did the rocket get high enough for him to see he was wrong?

Clearly I have a different definition of crash landing than they do.

If you leave an impact crater at the “landing site” I disqualify it as a landing.

If you notice at launch there was a critical failure of the bungee cords that were holding the parachute on the side of the coffin. Errr.... rocket.

lol sorry for his family's loss but did anyone ever think that was going to happen any other way than what did happen . like strapping a bomb to your back is never going to turn out well for you . though if he had had a second chance it could have lol no it would not turn out better the second time .

Just got to look at the video....

Parachute deploys early.

Final seconds living with the realization that the gear designed to bring you softly back to earth is non existant.

Reminds me of Virgin Galactic. Pilot pulls lever under power and realizes he has just changed to orientation of the wing from flight to recovery mode and probably has a moments understanding of "What the fuck dumb thing did I just do?"

Final observation......the little plastic hand pump rockets that run off pressurized water probably fly as high as "Mad Mikes" ship go to go.

He had more hang time than I thought he was gonna get. Oh well, at least he died doing something he loved doing. Not all of us can say the same when our time comes.

"The rocket appears to plummet back down to earth before hitting the ground"

excellent reporting
Plummet, as if he did not have control. Hitting the ground, as opposed to hitting water.
Or maybe a sentence added to clarify for those who may also have a lack of faith in gravity.
But my guess is just one of those "the leading cause of homicide is murder" kinda things.

He wasn't ordered to do that, nor was he conscripted. He 'more than' volunteered for it, in that it was 'self-purporting'. If he wasn't able to see the potential outcome(s?) or its folly, then how can we but laugh at the entirety?

I mean, come one now.... this is right up there with the story of the JATO's on the Dodge Diplomat in the Nevada desert! Tell me I'm wrong.... :D

--Forgot to add,,,, if this guy thought at the earth was flat, then who are we to deny his 'thoughts' that gravity didn't exist either? And since he probably figured that the Earth was the center of the universe and that the sun orbited each day,,,, he'd just fly up to the light and ride the corona until it came around again. Oh, but wait,,,, how could it come around, if it weren't spherical?

Just a minute now.... there has to be a perfectly illogical argument for this fact as well,,,, gimme a minute.....

Actualy supprised he made it to be 64 in the first place.

Precisely, he been bruised and busted-up along the way to 64 , and he was out there ( free will ) in pushing the edge. So he not stupid to run that long .
I think it outstanding building your own backyard rocket, and that NO different than another guy building his 6 second 1/4 mile machine to play on the weekends, or another guy building his own Kit Plane in the garage to taxi off his grass strip .

Fatal mistake was most likely a simple but fatal (human error) done in Rigging on the Para recovery system, by him personally or team member . If it was a team member who last handled the Para Rigging pre launch. I bet that fucker is an absolute wreck for some time to come after standing there after the launch and watching him burn in .

How long before the conspiracy theories pop up around sabotage? “THEY” don’t want the flat earth truth getting out...

On a serious note, condolences to the family. Dude had guts to build and step into his own rocket, multiple times.

Seeing that parachute blow off on launch made it hard to watch...

On another note, that dailymail website is THE WORST. Its the slowest bullshit full of all kinds of shit running at once and malicious cookies and internet crap. I try not to click on it at all because it is so bad and locks up my computer. The ipad doesn't seem to have a problem with it but the PC hates it.
