Rifle Scopes YUUUUUUUUGE S&B sale

That H2CMR one is pretty damn tempting.
I wish they had better reticles available. The new one is pretty awesome. Nice and simple but still small enough graduations.

The H2CMR is an awesome reticle and has .02 mil hash marks. I believe S&B charges $500 to swap for a standard reticle option and $900 for Horus options. Keep that in mind as an option too, is LRR-MIL is what you really desire you should be able to have that for $2500 total by buying the H2CMR and having it swapped. Still a significant savings.

Yeah I'm being picky and want something with a numbered lower section.
I have an MSR on mine now and on holdover only stages, it takes longer to count than I'd like. I think even an even or odd numbered line would be great.

Damn. Sub $2k for a new 5-25 is a no brainer. There is nothing else out there that can compete at that price point.

Grabbed another 5-25 with the H2CMR.

I really wanted to grab another Gen2XR but for this price, I will live with the H2CMR for the Vudoo

I'm hopeless. Absolutely no justification for having done this. H2CMR based on CCW turrets. Is the illum. daylight bright?

Compared to most CQB scopes, no. Most of the settings are lower so that you can use it in low light where an illuminated reticle is actually beneficial. As long as it's not ridiculously sunny you can see it if you crank it to 11, but why? There's no need for an illuminated reticle on a precision rifle in the daytime. If you have your reticle focused correctly it's going to be sharp and crisp against any background.

Got the email blast as well. Just got off the phone with Tyler who was extremely helpful! Fortunately my wife wanted a new optic on her rifle, so I bought 3 at those prices. 2ea 5-25 h2cmr & did the unthinkable, bought a 3-20P4F. Maybe that one will get a reticle change at a later date besides getting the MTC disabled. Couldn't resist those prices.

I noticed that the 3-20 P4F I bought was CW but didn't care at those prices. Actually it is replacing an old single turn CW 3-12 AI marked S&B mildot with stair steps at the bottom. Markings on it are 762x51HPS in case anybody cares.

I have a S&B 5-25 H59 listed in optics for sale/trade, really looking to swap to gen 2xr just don't want to do a reticle swap, i feel its better to leave it unmolested.

Great deal . The market is really flooded with options , seems like there’s a new ‘ mid range ‘ optic
being released every other month lately . The previous kings of the hill are feeling the new kids
nipping at their heels .

That didn't take long. The 5-25 H2CMR option went to back order a couple of hours ago. Now it's no longer listed.

I have that tab open on my computer to the MTC 3-20 and trying not to buy it. I don't mind the P4F reticle although from the last S&B I was selling, everyone seems to dislike it!

The H2CMR is a gross reticle. There, I said it!

Well it looks like that one sold out. I was conflicted about it anyway, so I'm kind of glad it's OOS now. :)

They have a dozen options, and they're all pretty bad IMHO. How about an MR4, mil-C, SKMR, SKMR3, EBR-7B, SCR, APLR, or even an MR2, EBR-7, etc. Just something that doesn't stink...

Someone has some S&B hate lol. Jeez man, S&B has the LRR-MIL which isn't really any different than about half of the reticles you listed. Two things S&B has over most of those other optics is reliability and glass quality. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Is that the new one? It's pretty darn busy, but does look decent. I hadn't seen it before now, but had heard about it.

I don't have an opinion on S&B performance - never looked through one. My only opinion is about their reticles and they're pretty atrocious for the price point compared to pretty much everything else on the market. JMHO - worth what you paid for it. I only say all this because I've tried out some expensive optics and will be buying my first probably next year, and won't consider S&B just because of the dated reticle selection unless they come out with decent prices on the LRR - same reason I won't consider TT.

So you're bashing an optic brand which you admit to have absolutely zero first hand experience with and judging them solely on an armchair assessment of pictures of their reticles?

Yep, you're definitely someone who should be giving advice on the matter.

If people stuck to subjects that they actually have a clue about, the internet would be a better place.

I'm not giving advice about them. I'm simply giving my opinion about their reticles, which suck. You don't have to look through a scope to know if a reticle design doesn't work for you.

The internet would be a better place if we all talked to each other with a little respect and treated each other like we were having the conversation in person.

I am torn between 5-25 Gen 2 xr MTC in Pantone, 3-20 MTC in Black or the classic 5-25 DT in Black.

S&B reticles most certainly don't "suck" and you most certainly are making an armchair assessment of something you have no experience with.

No, looking at a picture of a reticle is not the same as actually using it. Perfect example, do you know how many people call Horus reticles "too busy" from looking at a picture and then go on to use one and end up loving it? The answer is A LOT. So no, looking at a picture of a reticle is not the same as using it.

You keep living under your rock and telling yourself that though.

I want to get the one listed for 2100 5-25 p4f cw only concern is that I can't figure out if it has zero stop. Does anyone know?

Horus reticles are definitely too busy on computers and in scopes (and yes I have seen both).

I never said looking at a picture of a reticle was the same as using it. I said that I can tell if the design of the reticle works for me. You're putting words in my mouth.

I'm truly sorry that you're incapable of handling someone having a different opinion than you. The only reason I posted on the thread is because I want to put S&B on my list very badly because I know they're nice scopes, but why they haven't come out with a decent reticle option is beyond me (same as TT). The LRR is a step in the right direction.

Maybe the fact that they're having to heavily discount these scopes in order to move them should be a clue as to which of us the market agrees with.

No, you're just shitting in a thread. Welcome to my ignore list with all the other clowns that just spew BS all over the place with no positive contribution.

P4F or Gen 2 XR or the LRR would be the same as any of these, they are like ice cream flavors they're all a little different but each do the exact same thing. If a horus is too busy and the others are dated what function are looking for the reticle to fulfill? What do you need it to do?

Dammit. I knew I shouldn't have waited to snag a H2CMR, so I grabbed a Gen2 XR. CURSE YOU, EUROPTIC!!!!

I couldn't resist either, plus the Pantone and RAL8000 have been growing on me. I ordered the same one and I'm going to have S&B install a Tremor 3 and disable the MTC.

Was gonna order a 3-20 when I got home from work but they’re sold out.. didn’t think those would be so popular!

PMII’s under $2K are always going to be popular. That’s why I went ahead and snagged one Pantone 5-25’s, those are probably going to be one of the next to sell out.

Is LRR standard ret?

That would be a question for the US S&B service center. I’d give them a call tomorrow and ask.

The prices on scopes equipped with it lines up with the standard reticles so that’d be my guess. You may also inquire about reticle stock too, the scopes just made it to the states in the last few week but that doesn’t mean that they’ve been stocked with the reticles for swaps.
