I can’t figure out why all the news stories try to make it sound like a racial killing.

The guy killed people by supplying drugs which is obviously bad, but it doesn’t sound like a hate crime. They just mention everyone’s race a lot and it adds nothing to the story. Sounds to me like he REALLY loved black guys, he’s just an asshole for allowing them to OD if he was pushing the drugs on them.

Was co-chair with the local FD when developing an implementation plan for high piled storage and we heard from experts from all over the country. Basically if the fire overwhelms the sprinkler system even an ESFR system you are going to loose the building and basic strategy is to make sure the building is evacuated and protect adjacent structures. Been in buildings where the sprinkler system suppressed the fire and was also involved in forensic analysis of an 800K sf building that was a total loss.

I was under the assumption, that a "Dirty Bomb", was somewhat worse, in a different way, than a standard yield bomb. When I was tasked in the Mil. for D.P.(during my Cold War years), dirty bombs weren't a thing. So, a dirty bomb is like getting nuked from a cell tower, just with fall-out? How about half-life of it's radiation? Mac

Full yield is worse. Dirty bomb is orders of magnitude less bad in terms of damage, death, and destruction.

It's worse because it's easier to make. You don't need viable weapons grade stuff to light a full yield reaction. You can take waste material, load it in a truck full of ANFO and blow it all over a parade and contaminate the fuck out of everything it touches.

It's not going to obliterate a city but it's very low tech and much easier to make and deploy.

It's the difference between dying in a blast or from rapid onset radiation poisoning and being contaminated (hence the term 'dirty bomb') and slowly suffering the effects, bringing it home and hugging your wife and kids, petting your dog, spreading it all over the place without really realizing it

Unless you are a full blooded Native American, everybody in this country is either an immigrant or is descended from someone who immigrated over here.
And fairly recently by global history standards.

Even if you are one of the snooty ones that can put mf after your name, you are still the descendant of recent immigrants (by global history standards).

Our last President was the Grandson of an immigrant and the last first lady was an immigrant herself.

Perhaps in your school they never taught about all the various waves of immigration from various ethnic areas that helped shape the character of the country we know today.
