Hi all.
Since i swapped barrel on my trg 22 (maybe i've exaggerated with the diameter) i cant use my bipod.
I built a plate to mount the bipod but it was too flimsy...

I looking for recommendation from you guys.
My current options are:

- krg forend: does it works with stock backbone? I like the design and made the option to use tikka ctr magazines. Doesnt solve the bipod issue so i will be forced to use another bipod
- vision forend: it solves all the problems but I find it not eye pleasant...
- custon forend with integrated bipod mount: cons - it will be difficult, expensive and possibly uglier than the vision. Pro- it will be fun to build

Do you guys know something that i dont know?

I put a Vision forend on my TRG 42 recently. I like the Arca capability. It seemed a little loose with the factory Sako TRG bipod. It clicked into the front mount but rocked more than I liked. It would probably work with some sort of shim.

I elected to use an Arca mount on an Atlas bipod. I still need to paint the plastic grip on the KRG folding stock for the TRG to match.

Do you have the first version of the trg bipod or the last iteration?
Very nice rifle (and scope too) tough..

There are three versions that I am aware off. The first version has the wider stance. The second is like the current version but without the cutout for the bushing that tensions the side to side cant.

I actually really like the looks and function of the vision forend. Unfortunately I was told they are not making them for the trg any more. You would have to buy the full chassis from them.

Like posted above you could just kill down the sides for the barrel for clearance.

Seems i have to think about making a custom forend.
Specs will be:
- 100mm longer than the original
- lower profile as well as narrower. I think 5mm lower and 5 mm narrower.
- arca rail and uit rail
- sako qd mount at the end. I really like the trg bipod.

I will release the cad drawing to make it open source.

Rev 1.
I'll show only the bottom since i've not figured out how to machine the interior.
There will be a lot of weight reduction, final weight goal is near 800 grams.

Machined from 6082 T6, clear anodized and cerakoted.

Next steps:
- design review of bottom section for ease of machining
- final design of inner section
- still undecided for mlok on the sides, maybe i'll leave space for a couple of slots
- integrated front qd vs add on...

Why not either full Mlock and then a QD adapter as needed but will also allow weights to be added if people want or other accesories

For two reasons. It will be difficult to create space for mlok interface without ergonomic compromises and there will be enough internal space for weights.
Mainly for the first reason.

In addiction mlok maximum thickness is a major limitation for stiffness.
