Live Trapping Beavers?

Any tips for live trapping beavers ?
Traps ? Bait ? Trap location?

They moved in and were cool for a year or 2 now they trying to flood the whole world

Depends on age.

Young = 30 pack of keystone. Or if uppity, some white claw or other seltzer.

Older, already been trapped, but released?
Have a job and be able to converse beyond sports or video games.
Mad skills at foot and back rubs increase quality of attracted.
Add being a really good cook and able to fix stuff?

Limitless opportunity.

Main issue is with most, the main pump is colder than a well diggers ass on the backside of Pluto.
Or operating system is Microsoft derived, easily corrupted and fairly useless.

Fair warning everyone who can’t reply seriously is getting reported

Why do you want to live trap them? Do you have dogs (or some other critter) on the property you're worried about with a kill trap? If you live trap so you can move them somewhere, they will cause problems in the new place.

It’s illegal to build ponds here I want to move them a mile away to a new farm to build a pond for me

They really aren't that hard to trap but I have never attempted a live catch. That might actually be a difficult task. I use a connibear as mentioned above and set it so they drown. Get a trappers license, follow the regs and kill those bastards.

Edit:
Only legitimate reply’s in MY thread

Check out Shawn Wood on Youtube, he might have something.

It used to be illegal to even disturb the mess they created here in GA but appears not to be any more. We sold that place a couple of decades ago.

1.5 foothold with 2' chain and 3 or 4 in line swivels staked well in a crossover or trail where they're cutting trees. Check every day. You'll need a catch pole to remove them and a dog carrier. You need to target the front foot as the rear is huge and a 1.5 wont hold them. Another option is a cable restraint with relaxing lock, cant have any trees nearby for them to wrap in once caught. Next advice is hire a pro trapper, it'll save you the headache.

caster oil and some sort of live cage. would be much easier to use a conibear though and you would get the pelt out of it.

I relocated thieving coons out of my garden one yr. pretty sure they beat me back from dropping them off a few miles away.
Important to know the "range of travel" for the critter. We had a problem gray squirrel that was ripping through the screen of our sunroom to get in the bird seed my wife refused to put a lid on. I wanted to kill it and make that stop...she was against that option, so I bought a little live trap. Caught it the next day, drove it about 8 miles away and let it go. From what I'd read those will travel between 3-5 miles trying to get "back home". Figured I moved it far enough. What I also read was that they won't survive being relocated, because the "local" population will keep them from settling in, or eating, or something like that...so, it probably died not too long after. Don't really care, it never came back and we haven't had another one become a problem.

Look up how they are handled around wherever it is you live . If legal to relocate, next see if the DNR considers them a pest and:

Will do it for you!

Some places consider them such a pest the state will very happily do it for free. If there are second order consequences (e.g. if you didn't handle it, they'd flood a road, railway, secondary waterway etc) then some other agency or even private org (railroads) may have authority over it also and will be even easier to deal with.

And they will do it right, relocate them (or some places: eradicate even) so they do not come back.

Just thinking outloud, but does anyone really give a fuck about what's legal and what isn't anymore? Rule of law is dead. Do whatever you want, just don't get caught. If you want to slay beaver, slay beaver. Just don't let the gov or your wife find out.

Guidelines on following laws:

Is it immoral?
How likely to get caught ?

No and no it’s a go

Damn a beaver.
Kill the bastards.
They won't go in a box trap, they are dumber than shit, but not that dumb.
Your best bet is to call the wildlife commission and report them. If its illegal to build a pond in your area, then those beavers are in big trouble. Collect copious amounts of evidence of their scofflaw ways. I also recommend posting signs, notifying the beavers of the particular statute that they are violating. Also let them know the location you want them to relocate, and assure them, there will be no further action on your part, if they build the pond to your specifications in the new location.
These actions should result in a tenable solution.
If not, hang some snare wire around their lodge in the shape of a noose. Theyll get the message or else.

I grew up on a farm in the south we had beavers that kept about 20 acres under water or wet enough it couldn't be farmed. We shot them, trapped them, blew them up with dynamite. They always came back, there were always more of the basterds. We finally got on a program with the department of wildlife with a federally funded animal control trapper that literally came by several times a week year-round trapping them to finally get them under control. It can be done but it is a full-time job. Conibear traps, beaver gland sent, and leave no human sent use latex gloves and rubber boots, watch some videos on trap placement. Good luck.

They are attracted to the sound of flowing water. You might be able to control where they build by placing sound were the beaver should be building?

Know how I know ya didn’t read the thread. ?
Guilty. Could‘ve told us out of the gate, but instead you got all dramatic.

Having trapped dozens of semi/severally feral kitties, have a heart trap is your best option. No guarantee those beavers will build a pond on your property though, fuckers have a mind of their own. Beavers be beavers.
