Well you need to pick up a Remy 270 or a Mossy 500 to round out your ensemble.
I would suggest an 870, an older one, not that Express garbage. An old 700 in 270 Win could be nice too though, I assume that’s what you meant.

Nope. My armory is limited.

You are really missing out on some super fun. Even if you don't hunt birds, shotgun is huge fun, busting flying orange discs is huge fun. Give it a try sometime and I bet you would be hooked....that is how it worked for me.

Does this place have a general "gun" area? I really did not see a place where we talk about things like shooting clays and stuff like that.

I loved it mainly because I'm a huge fan of Supernatural. I may have suggested Sam and Dean as names for my twins. Wife shot it down because Dean is apparently a terrible name?
What? Dean Martin? Jan and Dean? He can head a College department? Dean Jones? Dean Koontz? Dean Atcheson? That Dean guy who invented the goofy two wheeled thing and his own helicopter?

But don’t bring up Daen Corll…

Dean is a great name!

Like I said... My wife thinks it's a terrible name. I don't have to agree, I just have to pretend I do.

Debated whether to post here or the motivational thread; got a fair bit of brass processed, and loaded up enough 300BLK for a fun range day mañana. Did 200 subs…well, actually 203, there were extra bullets in the box! LOL. Did the Berry’s bullets this time, but over my standard 10.5gr Accurate 1680. Never used these spire points before, we’ll see how they do at 50 yards.

Also did 350 supers; all were 110gr bullets in various flavors, but all loaded over the same 21 gr of H110. I really like that load‘s performance out to 150 yards or so.

I really need to get a progressive press of my own. I usually borrow a friend’s whenever I load more than 50 or maybe 100 rounds or so, but just got on a roll today.

Also met with builder #3 to get a bid for our detached garage/casita … Last one came in well over what we were planning to spend. We’ll see where we wind up, but the ball’s already rolling. Relocated one of our buried propane tanks last week, and the landscaper‘s already started tearing up the backyard!

Nice that they had the time and material to waste on that seeing that there are fires 20 miles upwind of my place in BF East texas

Hopefully you have managed the fuels on your place.

Great training video to show fire crews what happens if they call a drop on themselves or flight crews what happens if they hit a structure or vehicle.

I spent a summer fighting fires. Most structures could be saved if the owners managed the fuels on their property right. But most just complain. And we have to sit on structures rather than actually contain the fire.

I presume you are in the Piney woods. You should keep the needles raked back 100 or more feet from your structures and have all brush cut back 200 feet. And check your house and barn to address some key things. And be prepared to drop trees around your place away from your house.

Most places in Texas have horrible fuel management. The worst is Austin. The city of Austin came very close to a major loss of life in 2011 - about the same time as the Bastrop Pines fire - during the 2011 drought. The west side of the city is an unbroken juniper canopy now.

Worse yet, juniper encroachment from Wichita Falls all the way down to Navasota and to the coast is now an unbroken 100 mile wide highway of fuel. Texas will soon have a massive fire outbreak that will dwarf all others.

And most of the landowners will moan about it rather than keep the fuels under control.
