Greyknife( Ralph) with my 50 Yard Factory target shot today Nov 1, 2022. The temp was about 50 degrees when I shot this target after about 20 sighters. I was hoping for a 200. but have to settle for a 198 11X. Please check the third right top target which I did not plug and now looks like an X. I will let you and the other shooters determine whether this is an X or not? Nevertheless I am somewhat happy with a 198 with my off the shelf Savage Mark II BTV. Even though it was cool this morning I had low wind from behind me. This a fairly good lot of Norma Tac 22 and fortunately no huge flyers like I had with some of my sighters.

Ralph, that's a close call, but I don't see any gap between the shot and the black dot, so I would call it an X. Good shooting! I have your score posted.

Larry, hope you’re having a good day. Beautiful day here in Charlotte so I was able to get some aroma therapy shooting those little targets. Fought the wind gusts but still had fun. I shot my factory match and I shot the unlimited. I am using my CZ 457 MTR for both. I know I’m good for factory but not sure if I’m “legal” for unlimited since it’s stock.

Let me know please. In any case it’s a fun challenge to test you.
Thank, John

Here is a target with the new 2500X. I shot it with the tuner has set from Mr. Langley. It was too cold to screw around. I am very pleased for the first time. Now I will turn my attention to fine tuning. I think she is a keeper.

Jerry, well done for the first rounds from a new rifle! It will be fun to see how it shoots once you get it fine tuned....

Hi Larry (and the rest of my fellow shooters on here),
It has been nearly 3 months since my beloved wife passed away, but I am finally at a point where I'm ready to return to shooting. It was a cool 7C here at the local range today, overcast, dry, and hardly a breath of wind. I had the place to myself which made it easier to focus on the job at hand. Using the 1967 Walther KKJ-T with Lapua Flat Nose Basic (sorted by weight) I managed a 200.17. I think my new guardian angel must have been watching over me.

By the way Larry,
Today was the first chance I had to try the Mini-Palma using aperture sights at 100 yards. The wide lines between the scoring circles wash out the black portion of the bull to the point where it is very difficult to get a well-defined aiming point on which to center the front aperture. I did manage to get most of my shots in the scoring area, but it was hard-going. If the white X-ring was black and the lines between the scoring rings were only 1-point wide, then I think the Mini-Palma would be very doable with aperture sights.

Ken, very sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your wife. She probably had a big smile on her face after you shot this match. Man, that's good shooting for Iron Sights! Well done!

Larry

Really awesome shooting.

Larry,
I took some time last night to work up a 100 yard Rimfire Iron Sight Mini-Palma target with very fine lines between the scoring rings. The dimensions were taken off your target and are directly proportional to the original. I will try it at the range this week and let you know how it works in relation to the original.

Ken, would it help at all to change the color of the outer ring (not the line around the ring) to white, then black, then white as you move closer to the center of the target? Is it all black the best option for iron sighting?

Thanks,

Larry
