Single feed or short action mag length?35-45 jump has shot very well in 65prc at 2950fps
XM length action, 3.2" magazines.Single feed or short action mag length?
Running them around .065” in my 6.5x47L. But I can run them anywhere between 60-70 and I don’t see any discernible difference.
Highest BC running super slow. 2600ish. Same wind as faster/lighter bullets and all the time in the world to watch trace. Is there any appreciable advantage over the 144 in a small case like the x47?
Morgan King runs 156s in 65cm at like 2580 for prs, heard of him? I'm sure he's running a 7.5 or 7tw to be stable at all environments. Is there any appreciable advantage over the 144 in a small case like the x47?

2580 is pretty slow, but big bullets show up really well on the plate or off the plate. Obviously works well for him. I’ve considered going back to 6.5 with a mildly loaded 144 hybrid. Not really from a wind advantage standpoint, but a visual advantage down range with the bigger slower bullet. Arguments for a 153.5 or 156 seem to be easy to make as well.Morgan King runs 156s in 65cm at like 2580 for prs, heard of him? I'm sure he's running a 7.5 or 7tw to be stable at all environments.

153s around 2600 are about .2 better than 105s at 3000 in a full value wind at 1k yards. Obviously more retained velocity/energy too.
But yes, bigger slower bullet is considerably easier to watch trace and see your impacts. Factor in brakes/weight/etc and it’s more than enough to offset any additional recoil you get from the heavier 6.5s.
On paper no, but a considerably larger bullet going much slower is also way easier to watch.Oddly enough, the time of flight difference between a 105 @ 3000 and a 153.5 @ 2600 is only 0.02 seconds at 300 yd and 0.11 seconds at 1000. Not much!
Range report for today. I'm liking velocity node on 147s at 2600 ish for .7 grains... might have to look closer. Play with length to get better accuracyY’all slow your 140s down to 2600 and you can experiment for yourself.
You don’t have to push them to 2850 and 70k psi in a creed.
It’s nice being to have less recoil and more time to recover.
