saw hunting movies on Cattle's i was wondering who can give an odd around how many percent Cattle would not survive if they where shot point blank around 10 feet away in the head with an.22 LR?

I wonder if it comes close to what I think!

Well, don't keep us in suspense..... What do you think ?
My late uncle had a slaughter house. He used either a .38 revolver or a .22LR revolver with the muzzle a few inches from the head.

He told me that sometimes a .38 would not kill them when a .22LR would.

Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just telling you all what he told me.

Okay did he have a case that a .22LR would not kill either?

I never discussed that with him. I was walking around the slaughter house with him and he showed me the big claw like device which secured the cow, before killing it, and explained how it operated.

I thought that perhaps he used some sort of compressed air apparatus to shoot a rod or something like that in the head. So I asked him what he used to dispatch them and he showed me two S&W revolvers.

IIRC he said, "I've shot some bulls in the head with the .38 and they just blink at me. Then I get out the .22 and they drop without a problem."

I didn't ask about it any further.

Similar experience with my grandpa (Missouri boy). Only time a 22 didn’t kill was if he missed the brain (rare). Must have worked well enough they never tried anything else

ETA: assuming shot placement is good, 100%

do you also know how many shots your grandfather have been done to the head with the .22 lr in total? And how many did not kill?

I have watched a local on the farm butcher do this... a cow will drop instantly with 1 shot. Looks just like you turned off the switch ;
When I was about 12 a yearling calf got loose and lost it's shit when it was being coaxed to go back inside the fence. Some of them will get so rattled sometimes they pretty much lose their minds temporarily. It ended up bunting my Mom. Dad told me, "Go get the .22." He shot it between the eyes at maybe 20 feet and it dropped like it fell from a helicopter. Never twitched. Not a breath.

I thought he was inbred at first 🤣
But then figured, he’d know a .22lr definitely kills cows at point blank.

if you just stood there penned in and let someone shoot you I am sure they could also kill you with a 22lr so why not a cow ?
they should have tried wild cape buffalo's to test how best to piss a mean ass critter off they stomp lions just because they can a person has to be easier to take out you are not as fast . besides that video would be way funnier to watch .

My brother in law works for a massive cattle operation that has their own sale barn. This guy probably has 20k head of cattle. They all carry a 17hmr rifle in their trucks. He explained to me that a .17hmr from touching to 5ft away turns off the switch instantly. He's done it at least 100 times over the years. He says that he's never seen one take a step.

No idea but it’s a lot that died. Only one he’s told me didn’t survive was when his brother came back from Chicago and shot a cow 9 times in the head but couldn’t kill it. Be shot it once and killed it right away. The off button is the middle of the X if you draw 2 lines: one right ear to left eye and one left ear to right eye

Okay but did one or the hundred cattle survive for long ?

Yeah Okay but my question is how many percent survive being shot with the .22lr?

buddy, stop asking the same fucking question over and over. every single one will die just fine assuming you dont fuck up the shot.

if you are that prone to screwing things up, nothing will work 100 percent unless you wrap the neck with det cord. and if you are that bad at stuff, you would probably screw up the priming sequence.

Try it thousand times and let me see

.22 works better than some other things. I shot a whitetail buck in the back of the head 3-4 times with a .38S&W from six to zero inches away, all it did was make him dizzy.

I shot quite a few over the years. Injured and slaughter. Only one failure. 22 magnum HP blew up on skull contact range.
22 LR always worked. One shot.

I exactly don’t have a clue. I’m starting to agree with the above post.

With my tiger striped desert eagle 22lr howitzer. I have killed 10,000 with none wounded. The key is in the tiger stripping. The non striped model I had previously wounded the first 2000 I tried it on. Dude you are a fuckin moron. There’s 20 guys here tell you it will work. But if you fuck it up it won’t. Don’t hit it in the right spot it won’t matter what you use.

No manbun’s in Holland?
Everyone knows only the mighty manbun will kill a cattle 🐄

Why are you so concerned with how many did not died when shot 22lr to head?

You some sort of danish PETA?

A lot of times in Amerika we will use hand grenade to make a died the cow. You put in mouth of cow and it make a explode. Only 2 in 100 not make a died and have jaw problem after. We make them a died after with a 22lr to the head. 1/1000 cow not make a died after hand grenade and 22lr. We use these cows to make a sex with each other to make a super cow for battle/war against the Hindus.
