I'll just add that "Terry Stops" are legal when done according to the law according to SCOTUS- and it's a highly effective technique for finding illegal guns, drugs, and other contraband.

The Terry Stop law doesn't allow for and SCOTUS doesn't either, nor does the spirit of it, cover "a guy just taking out his trash".

At this point, i dont want to leave anything up to those officers to determine if they have reasonable suspicion.... while I like the production of stop and frisk, the police have shown time and again that they are fine with lying and bending the rules so I'm not with them having ANY more authority to do ANYTHING. Let's just enforce our laws and stop letting criminals: loose, into the country by the millions, have welfare, ect.... and if the cops wouldn't go arrest me for kicking the crap out of the thief down the street, it wouldn't be an issue to begin with.

That's not true. He's talking specifically, about New Orleans, because the crime is so bad. He's suggesting NOPD stop and frisk more often. We already have a national search and frisk, if there is reasonable suspicion. Kennedy was against the riots and city burns. He's one senator. He's not the Commander in Chief. I'm not saying stop and frisk is not abused. Often, it is.
