Aye, says here the giant crack is lubing up the fault, she may be getting ready to bust a tectonic move in the PNW, article says could cause a 9.0, but I think that estimate is low. My hunch is a solid 12.0, maybe a 12.5!!!

70% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water. Most of Earth’s fault lines exist in oceans. Don’t they all have moist cracks ready to explode? Even by the fundamentally low standard of click bait, this article is subpar.

California's GDP iw the 5th largest in the world. It would be catastrophic to the US economy.

Likely out of our hands unless Bruce Willis can invent some sort of huge platetonic staple to keep it all in one place. :unsure:

I think this was covered in Escape from LA, oddly enough when it comes to disasters or the earth being destroyed the only media entity that has covered every possibility is the scifi channel.

The GDP thing is a leftist lie tomake them look more important. It leaves out so many Variables. Most of that is a pass-through or based on the high level of inflation/COL that they have. It is also taking into account all of the Federal money that they never see.

Not getting into an economics lesson here. Will just say that no matter the cost, it would be well worth it.

They all get rescued and shipped to conservative states. And we go broke(r) trying to rebuild California instead of letting it go the way of saber tooth tigers caught in the tar pits.

With all the hubub about gas stoves, no one seems to be seeing the bigger picture. Gas furnaces for houses won't be far behind.

And, where is all of the extra electricity going to come from ? I think they've torn down more nuke plants than they've built in the last 30 years.....

THe Coastal Range and the Sierra Nevada's, both of which got heavy snowpack this winter, though it would take years to fully reverse the drought.

The real problem is too many people trying to make a paradise out of a desert.
