Well folks that are trained to "just follow orders" usually tend to default to just following orders even if they know the orders are wrong because in the end you'll always get in huge trouble for not following orders but you can count mostly (if you are on the winning side) that even if you did a huge amount of evil the "good folks" will blather something about how you just need to obey and whatever and excuse it.
The entire history of our military and police and that of pretty much the entirety of the history of the world in how military and police forces were used to put paid to the fact that most uniform hangers will do orders even if evil and most silly "good folks" worship government, uniforms, laws and "orders" more than they worship god and truth and righteousness.
