The woman brought one of these home for me on father's day. I have it hanging up on a cabinet door in the garage. The neighbor (a 28 year old mechanic) asked what it was. He's never seen oil that's not in a plastic bottle.

4 wheel drive Mack Junior or even better a Mack E Model.

If I could only have 1 though ‘40 Ford PU.
If I could pick 1 vehicle to “street rod” in some form it would be an old Ford truck. Anything from the late 30’s to ‘56, F1 to the big 4wd or COE models is irrelevant. I’ll figure out something to do with it

Never dealt with one. Were at a forth celebration, always alot of skeet shooting. Four guys had shotguns in AR configuration, never got close to check brands, but three would never cycle a second round, and forth might every now and then. Was not impressed, but like I said, never saw brands, or handled any of them.

Forty years ago, I knew how to operate and a Sun diagnosis machine and read one of those, today’s computer mechanics would have no idea what it is. Good times and memories! Old mind can’t remember the vitals and hook ups any more. Not many people running points and condensers any more……
TUT915 or a big ass 1120?

It's amazing that, that thing is an antique.
Everybody had one

Anyone ever have a job where your boss was too cheap to buy an electric version of this? Anyone ever have the job cutting all the wood for the job site with this tool? Not going to lie, he did have an electric drill. That was the only power tool. I often wonder if it was cheaper to pay me than to buy an electric saw.

Looking on the bright side, I was forced to make sure I made the correct cut the first time. Even back then, lumber wasn't cheap and if I made a mistake, that meant more wood to cut. When one arm got tired, I used the other. Don't talk to me about nail guns! I never learned how to use one.

If you got proficient with one of these as a teenager, then we can be friends.

I See you post this fellow a lot, and I think its great. 99% of the people here feel like coworkers sometimes. Ive just become so jaded by criminality, pedophilia, and all of that, no way will I even post my own pic let alone my grandson. Its that 1% man!!!!

Whats a person do with a picture online of a young boy? Fuck if I know, but people blurr their license plates on their car for a reason.

Just something to consider. Im seeing a lot of crime, theft, and shit around me and now it is personally affecting me. Ive shifted my thinking on a bunch of stuff. Its been a wake up call for me. Nobody would believe the month Ive had from crime.

Dont put this seemingly great boy in a position where a pic is used for some freakshow to get his jollies.

Ill leave it be at that....i just see you post him a lot. I also dont want the douchebags to take something innocent from us, but its not 1999 anymore.

A couple years ago I took one of my cars to a transmission shop to have the torque converter changed. The shop is run by an older guy and he had built the trans for the car. I got a call a few hours later about an electrical fire in the car. Some dumbass had turned the engine off and then turned the key back to on. Which is a big NO NO on a points ignition. Yes, I had a few choice words when I went back. Fucker melted the wiring harness all the way back into the car and under the dash. Hours of rewiring a classic car to be topped off with they didn't change the converter and it had to go back.

Summers in the early ‘80s doing construction and barn straightening working for an 80-something year old carpenter named Walter. I learned more those two summers than in k-12.

Plus my grandfather had a wood shop in his basement. Not a single power tool. Whenever we visited, we would build something.

Mine taught me to use a jack plane, brace and bit and lots other tools you no longer see. He didn't own a car and walked almost everywhere. House had a pot belly stove in the front room. That and the wood burning stove in the kitchen were the only heat sources...unless you count the half-dozen quilts you slept under that my grandmother made. No TV, no radio. One shotgun, one rifle and one SAA .45. Lots of fishing gear. He liked to use maggots for bait. Kept them inside his cheek like chewing tobacco. Smoked filterless Pall Malls.

Some of the best memories of my life.

You know, I sort of need one of these in my life...

Yes. Yes you do. Nothing sharpens a pencil like these. Grinds instead of shaves….

One that sharpens carpenter's pencils.

I don’t like the carpenter pencils. I like a regular skinny pencil for carpentry and such 🤷🏼‍♂️

I began inside trim at 13, my Uncle Gary was a Trim Carpenter for a huge builder and he had me cutting and installing Crown by the time I was 14. He used regular pencils and I always emulated him.

I’m still a damn good trim man.
