Anyone ever have a job where your boss was too cheap to buy an electric version of this? Anyone ever have the job cutting all the wood for the job site with this tool? Not going to lie, he did have an electric drill. That was the only power tool. I often wonder if it was cheaper to pay me than to buy an electric saw.
Looking on the bright side, I was forced to make sure I made the correct cut the first time. Even back then, lumber wasn't cheap and if I made a mistake, that meant more wood to cut. When one arm got tired, I used the other. Don't talk to me about nail guns! I never learned how to use one.
If you got proficient with one of these as a teenager, then we can be friends.

Summers in the early ‘80s doing construction and barn straightening working for an 80-something year old carpenter named Walter. I learned more those two summers than in k-12.
Plus my grandfather had a wood shop in his basement. Not a single power tool. Whenever we visited, we would build something.

Yes. Yes you do. Nothing sharpens a pencil like these. Grinds instead of shaves….You know, I sort of need one of these in my life...

I don’t like the carpenter pencils. I like a regular skinny pencil for carpentry and suchOne that sharpens carpenter's pencils.
