I’ve got one stuck this bad before. I left it sitting, straight up, in the middle of a cotton field over night, and came back the next morning and dug it out. That Louisiana gumbo mud is a bitch.

One of those is a Maneater and dangerous as hell, and could snap at any moment, causing permanent injury. The other is an alligator.

Where I grew up, they were called a wigwam burner. They were used to burn waste products left over from the manufacture of wood products in the lumber and plywood manufacturing industries.

Most definitely! There all the way to the Rockies! I grew up hunting the Klamath NWR and had family friends in K-falls and Lakeview. Also chased Chuckar out around Denio. The by products of lumber and plywood production are too valuable to burn now even if you could. Back in the late 80's when I was working for Weyerhaeuser we would send 1x4's to the chipper because they were worth more as chips for paper pulp than finished lumber. Now with oriented strand boards (OSB) the demand is even higher for wood chips now.
