Hamas attack: The greatest intelligence failure in Israeli history?

“First, obviously, imagination and the conceit that being superior militarily generally can always prevent an inferior adversary from victory anywhere.

There are many examples in war, going back to the battle of Thermopylae around 2500 years ago when a small group of Greeks held off a massive army of Persians for an extraordinary amount of time when an inferior group made issues for a superior overconfident, or complacent group.

Then there was a lack of understanding: IDF intelligence has many debates about many security issues, but every official who briefed the Jerusalem Post made it clear that Hamas was broadly deterred from a big conflict with Israel.

Was October 7 - the day Hamas invaded southern Israel and killed over 600 Israelis, wounded over 2,000, and kidnapped an unknown number at least in the dozens - the worst Israeli intelligence failure in history?

Probably looking back historians will still flag the 1973 Yom Kippur War as much worse because there were more deaths and because the state's very existence was far more in danger.

But the IDF of 2023 is far more powerful than the IDF of 1973 and Hamas today is far weaker than Egypt and Syria were 50 years ago, so the issue is debatable.

How did Israel fall so far to such an inferior enemy?

How could this happen?

And the data seemed to support this. In numerous recent conflicts with Gaza, Hamas did not even take part. They seemed too afraid to join the fray with Islamic Jihad. They seemed to have learned the lesson of the 2014 and 2021 Gaza wars that if they jumped into the ring with Israel, they would always come out much worse.
This thinking was far too black and white as the fact is that Hamas did go to war with Israel in 2014 and 2021 despite many earlier experiences in which the IDF slammed it to the ground.
The lesson should have been that sometimes Hamas is deterred, but if it hits a low point where it feels it is getting nowhere and has nothing to lose, it is willing to fight a losing battle just to get back into the conversation.
Then there is Hamas' tactical genius in the operation.“

I'm starting to think that all these sand rat religions are no longer worth keeping around. Hey I mean my ancestors worshiped trees and shit. Why did they ever switch to worshiping some jewish desert religion's god anyway? :sneaky:

Yeah, I'll just say that that this man is incorrect. Unless false idols are correct, and they are not. Something about the sons of Ishmael being a "wild donkey of a man" comes into play here. Look it up in Genesis. That DOES NOT overlook the corruption of the Israeli political class. Don't misunderstand me on this. To want to drain America of its resources just to increase yourself is wrong (Bibi said it, not me). Israel is not as pure as the wind-driven snow. There is evil there as well as here in positions of power. But what just happened over the weekend is WAY over the edge.

Call me a Polyana - this is all part of God's plan. But how everything fits into it has yet to be understood by us mere humans. But it is part of the tapestry. It is laid out in Scripture, and from here on out it gets very difficult.

It's interesting in a dark sort of way - many want to say Scripture isn't relevant and God doesn't exist. But somehow, for some reason, the world seems to conform to it time and again. It's a clue, Blue.

Why does everyone keep riding on the assumption that no one knew a large scale event was coming?

It's just shooting fish in a barrel right now......until Hezbollah steps in.
The Palestinians have no escape, the border has always been sealed tight, can't fly out as they'll get shot down immediately, can't go by sea as they'll get sank immediately.

That is one fucking ugly way to perform a ethnic cleansing.

I was in the area and mustered up some real dislike for those folks, but even I wouldn't shoot them like fish in a barrel.
It's way more fun if they are running, knowwhatImean ?

What’s your mind really blow?

It was not blown. What is occurring is not an unknown. It's a small pre-requisite, a piece of the puzzle. I know you know this. It's about to get real, a separating of the wheat from the chaff. Most do not understand what has happened and what is coming - and not just in Isreal.

Jesus titty-fucking Christ learn to read. Some of you guys have the reading comprehension of 3rd graders.

I never said they were fake. I said there's idiots who think they don't now and they mostly come from non-US countries. It's another example of what people are willing to believe to justify their dislike of the United States.

Want me to blow your mind? Ok, I will.

Blasphemy like this has more to do with the way the world regards us than all the “conspiracy theories” combined…

Yet it is still stunning, jaw dropping and awe inspiring to be witnessing it unfold.

I agree.

It’s disheartening and disappointing to see mankind degrade to such a level.

Israel is not afraid to do whatever it takes to benefit Israel.
The USA seems to be stupid enough to want to bankrupt itself playing ATM to the world.

Just think of how different America would be if Americans and American politicians were as dedicated to making America the best at any and all cost as the Israelis are and the Israeli politicians are to benefiting Israel.

We can't put all the blame on the Israelis for our politicians being stupid and corrupt morons voted into power by stupid, ignorant greedy voters.

Should we explain it for the people that might not know? Heck I’m still learning myself but Isiah 6 and Mathew 24 is a good start. And you can go as far as you want to.

I have a theory that Americans pay for most of the worlds shit, outside a few countries, especially for the last decade or so. It easily explains our debt. Then add in the money laundering scams for the politicians and all the shit we do to feed the MIC money coming in and it gets even easier to see how we racked up an impossible to pay back number lol.

That's quite a comment..........
I am so upset and pissed off with Mia Khalifa. It's a massive betrayal

how dare she?

How could she have a breast reduction? It's so unnatural.............

Now back to the program - Django Unchained Gaza edition

While media and cocksuckers Lindsay like to link Iran to all of it without a sliver of proof kind a like Sadam helped with 9/11 , its not quite so simple Hamas has been and remains Turk and UAE pet for the past decade or so , while Gaza and indirectly Hamas are founded by EU,US,Turkey,Arab League. And 6billion Biden unfroze are locked in a bank and tightly controlled by US in what can be paid .I am sure iran is there somewhere as well but not likely the main player possibly not even the front row

Before buying the bullshit keep in mind that Iran's allies in Palestine aren't Hamas but Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and al-Quds Brigade its the armed wing . Hamas is tied closest to Turkey. They fought against Iranians and Hezbollah in Syria and fought shoulder-to-shoulder with ISIS, US-backed moderate beheaders against militias from Iran, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. That was on the dime of Turkey which together with UAE is one of their benefactors. There has been some contact between Iran and Hamas since the war in Syria kinda ended but there is no love lost there. Of course that is changing as Hamas just skyrocketed to pole position, displacing Hezbollah in Muslim world rankings who is who of the anti Israeli armed groups, and you can bet money is already being collected worldwide in support of Hamas.

But of course, the enemy of my enemy is my friend stuff works in Gaza like everywhere else and then some . I am sure PIJ joined the fray and Iranians feel smug being accused,by folks with no clue,of planning the whole thing.
Remember whole Iranian dog and pony show for the past decades is to appeal to arab and Muslim audiences, they couldn't give a rat's ass about the West, but folks accusing them of being the masterminds is a massive free boost to street cred they are raking among 2billion Muslims.

You can see Americans simply as stupid and ignorant greedy voters, or also recognize recognize that ‘in-group preference’ is a reality. The central bankers are not ‘American’. Elected politicians holding dual US-Israeli citizenship are not ‘American’.

The first person I heard spewing this line of shit was Owen Benjamin:

And since certain members of the "alt-right" echo chamber soak up this stuff in the same way that dogs will eat each other's puke, he gets amplified until this becomes a commandment of sorts among a particular cohort.

Historians should have fun unpacking some of this stuff in the future, assuming there's any evidence of it remaining.

Strictly looking at the situation between Israel and Gaza.....
Either the financial world was tipped off to this event or the financial world just has these blow up;s factored in.

1948 thereabouts is when the fig tree was replanted in that locale. That event started a time clock and the tree has brought forth two baskets of figs. One rotten to the core, and one ripe and ready.

All things of the age to be fulfilled before the baby boomer generation passes on.

I am getting very tired of your uninformed anti Semitism.

Feast your eyes on this and then look in your wallet to better understand that we are all indentured servants to the foul basket of figs.

Satan Claws is coming to town looking a whole hell of a lot like Jesus.

You can see 3 sides of a an allegedly 4 sided pyramid, that’s not how shit works.

I am getting very tired of your uninformed anti Semitism.
Youre so wrong, its not anti semitism, or at least only in your small mind. Anti Semitism is hating all Jewish people just because they are Jewish, and to say that I hate all Jewish people is truly ignorant and foolish. I have and have had many close Jewish friends.

I'm not even anit Israeli, I just see the reality of the situation clearly and not though darkened glasses. Thake your bullshit accusations elsewhere.

Yeah some thing is wrong with that image. But its there.

They did a much better job with the pyramid in front of IRS headquarters.
