We have a Hypertherm…. Cost about triple that.

Be interested to see what the ChiCom version does. Ours is rated for about 5/8…. Which it will sort of do. But not great. It is great up to about 3/8”. And a hole cutting pantograph will be your friend!

Beware the “ratings”. On thicker metal, it will not cut a nice kerf. It will blow out a messy inverted V. But if you are just doing “normal” fun stuff and not battleship armor, it will be awesome!

My “Christmas present” will be replacing the inverter on the monarch which exploded yesterday. Went off like a rifle being fired next to my head. I assume either a chip got in it (found one, but not touching anything?) or dust accumulated and shorted out a capacitor. No idea. It was sudden and loud

Big spark, tiny whiff of smoke. Didn’t even trip breaker. New one inbound from MRO supplier…. Sign because I don’t know how long the capacitors are going to be “hot” so just keeping people away from it until I put in new unit next week.

If it’s not one Damn thing it’s another…

Hypotherm ftw. Got a baby 110 for the shop for mobile stuff, super cool. Not as cool as the 3 phase 440 units. They're all so small and portable.

You must be a young pup............never got more than 2 cents per bale, and that is if you picked it up, and stacked it.............1 penny for only touching it once................

Grew up in tobacco country. Age 6-7 removed cured tobacco from the sticks. Penny a stick. Age 8 to 11 or so drove the tractor that pulled the cart. $5 per day. Age 12 and up cropped. 10 per day up to 20 as years went by. 16 or so(younger if you were a strapping fellow) hanging in the pack house. $20 per day and you earned every dime.

This one seems to be “the one” among Chinese Inverter Cutters. All of the reviews/videos seem very positive. It uses standard consumables too, not some weird off style.

I had a Blue Point a long time ago that I paid about $2k for and it was such a POS that I shamed the Snapon dealer into taking it back. Once I became a dealer myself I never sold those turds…but the actual Snapon welders and cutters are first rate.

I’m thinking about their 200pro welder too. My old Hobart mig isn’t “smart” like this new self sensing technology and inverters just plain weld better.

So true.

We have a good Subaru dealer here and lots of people around here drive them, but you can tell the locals because they’re rusty and dirty 🤣

When you see a very shiny nice one with the lesbian looking chick and a bunch of bumper stickers, you know they’re not from around here

Was on the radio when we were kids... But never on the 'good' stations. So not on the Rock station (it wasn't CLASSIC then... so shaddup!) Nope, always on the local station so we had to listen to dairy reports, Lawrence Welk and The Girl from Ipinema... and then find out that every town in our area EXCEPT ours was cancelled. I had my first snow day March of SENIOR YEAR... and I didn't find out about it until I got to school in my Jeep. Had given up listening to cancellations.

Bought a 6 pack of Molson Golden (my beer at the time) and went skiing.

I'll see if I can find the Rusty DeWeese video of our school busses...
