the media has blamed trump for not having enough security, and they have tried to hide the fact that trump offered ng troops and pelosi rejected the offer. now they are stupidly admitting pelosi was in charge (she was not even questioned by the jan 6 "committee") because they forgot about that in the rush to point out trump's mistake.

The Guard’s arrival at the Capitol was delayed hours more by Defense Department officials, who also cited “the optics of the National Guard on Capitol Hill,” he said.


Memos on Jan. 4 and Jan. 5 from the Defense Department and Department of Army restricted the D.C. National Guard from being involved in responding to Jan. 6 pro-Trump protests, Sund confirmed in response to House Administration ranking Democratic Joseph Morelle of New York.


Sund was unaware of those restrictions until after the attack, he said.

So she wasn't actually, officially in charge or part of the chain of command but through ineptness and breakdowns in procedure the chain of command was circumvented or broken by idiots.

I did follow the link to the "official" report ... it definitely supports the idea that Pelosi was involved in some of the communications but the real issue is she should not have ever been involved to begin with.

That is the most charitable take on things. The papers aren’t admitting anything. There’s no 3d chess here. Trump made a mistake, a kind he’s made several of lately, and Jack is swooning to spin it.

The main take here should be that Trump is either not prepared enough, or exhausted, or maybe under the weather, or just a late 70s dude with some memory issues. This is the presumptive GOP candidate.

In the "official" report it reads as if the capitol police request for NG assistance was delayed because some idiot asked Pelosi if it was OK even though it was not her decision to make.

The winner gets to record historic moments it doesn’t mean they record them accurately. With the exception of planted crowd agitators that honestly did not gain the momentum they needed there was no need for the NG. As the video is reviewed and analyzed it will become clear that deep state imbedded personal are responsible for the violence and inciting violence the RayEbbs videotape is just one f many that will eventually be exposed.
