I did read your post, you were simply incorrect. Hashing is not one-way encryption, because encryption is 2-way. Hashing and encryption and similar, but distinct.
Further, if you wanted to keep it simple and still be correct, you could have simply not mentioned passwords in your original post that I replied to.
Hashing being one way, and encryption being two way, is a very important difference. My reference to hashing being a "one-way (mathematical)" function was to remove ambiguity over whether I meant a program function.
