Ah so you lived a "highfalutin" type of life then did ya ;)? You had one of those 'new fangled' fancy tabletop rotary phones while us 'poor folks' had to make do with a wall mounted contraption in the kitchen with something like a 6' radius.

We had one on the wall in the kitchen at the first place I lived with one of those cords that could stretch all the way to the bathroom. Yes, "THE" bathroom and probably about fifteen feet to get there. Technically I think it would make it to any room since none of them were that far away. Six of us in a two bedroom, one bath shotgun house. The sitting room was mine and my brother's bedroom.

We got the highfalutin phones when we moved but they were still owned by AT&T and rented.
